I’m So Itchy!
What’s a good gel or hair removal product for shaving “down there?” I feel really itchy when I shave it. Please help! – Daisy.Bee5
I completely understand what you are going through. I too suffer from this sometimes, and it can be downright awful! The first step to keeping the itching at bay is to trim the hair in the area with small scissors or an electrical razor. This will cut down on the tugging of the hair follicles when you are shaving, which can lead to irritation. Second, wait until the end of your shower to shave. I know this may seem a bit weird, but the hair will be softer and easier to remove after about a 15 minute warm shower. Next, use a really thick, fragrance-free shaving gel and leave that on for a couple minutes before you start to shave. Make sure to stretch the area so it is as flat as possible to get the closest shave possible and to avoid cuts. After you’re done, pat the area dry and apply a thin layer of aloe vera gel (like one you would use on a sunburn). For an extra soothing, put the aloe vera gel in the refrigerator before you get in the shower. The cool gel will feel really good after you shave and hopefully stop the incessant itching. Hope these tips help!
Should I Shave My Arms Because I’m Teased At School?
I used to never get comments about the hair on my arms. But lately, my friends and other rude people have started making comments about my hairy arms. I’ve felt so insecure that I started to wear long sleeves to cover them. I’m debating whether to shave it or leave it as is. But if I do, I know the comments about my arms will continue. So any thoughts of what I should do? Is it true if I shave the hair will come back darker and longer? Someone please help! – Yazlyn
I’m so sorry that you are getting teased for having darker hair on your arms. I want to make it perfectly clear that there is NOTHING wrong with having hair on your arms. Ignore the rude comments that the kids at your school are making about you! Don’t let their teasing make you feel like you have to do anything to alter your body. If you want to shave your arms for whatever personal reasons, then by all means, go ahead. But if you decide to do that, I’m going to warn you: it will be a little annoying. The hair is going to grow back a little stubbly, much like it would on your legs, and you’ll probably be shaving every few days. I would recommend using a depilatory cream to remove your arm hair. In my experience, my hair grew back softer and not as thick as shaving. But please, only do this if it is something that truly bothers you and not for anyone else.
Do I need To Be Bare To Have The Big O?
My boyfriend and I are ready to take our relationship to the next base, as in third base (oral sex). I’ve gone down on him but he has never gone down on me. I’ve never had an orgasm, so I really want him to go down on me. But, the problem is that I’ve never shaved, waxed or trimmed, and he recently asked me why I don’t. I really don’t want to ever shave or do anything to my hair down there because I’m comfortable with it. I have never waxed or shaved any part of my body, other than my underarms. But I really want to experience an orgasm and want him to go down on me. Should I wax or not? – Natasha
Nope. Shaving down there is definitely not a prerequisite to oral sex. What you do with your pubic hair is your choice. You should never change something about your body unless you want to. Tell your boyfriend that you have made the person decision to not shave down there. This does not make you unclean or weird, and it certainly will not hinder your ability to have an orgasm. If your boyfriend will not perform oral sex on you because of your pubic hair, then you need to tell him… BYE! It’s your body and you can do what you want with it. If he can’t deal with a little hair, then he’s definitely not mature enough to be performing oral sex.
Never Wax Again?!
I had a facial wax once and I had a major allergic reaction! My face broke out into hives really bad. The bumps were in the places across my face where she had put the wax. She used hot wax, but I’m not sure what kind. Does this mean I can’t get waxed anywhere else without the same thing happening? Honestly the rash and hives after was more painful then the waxing itself. – Crystal
Do you need a special razor to shave down there? Or is it okay to use the same type of razor that’s used to shave underarm/leg hair? – Summer
Yes, it is perfectly okay to use the same type of razor to shave your legs, underarms, and any your lady bits below too. However, there is a difference between the amount of blades that your razor has that you should be aware of. For example, when shaving your legs, it’s totally fine to use a razor with three or more blades because the skin there isn’t as sensitive as it is on other parts of your body. When it comes to shaving your underarms, you want to be careful that you aren’t going over the area too many times with a multi-blade razor. This can cause razor bumps and a lot of irritation. The same goes for shaving your genital area. The skin there is super sensitive and needs extra care when shaving. But as long as you are using a clean, sharp razor on any part of your body, you should be completely fine.
