20 Style Tips On How To Wear Thigh-High Socks

It’s official: thigh-high socks are back, and may even be here to stay. When I was a kid, I associated high socks with my very strict Catholic school, since they were part of my uniform. In high school, I couldn’t think of thigh-high socks without conjuring up images of Clueless, my favorite ’90s movie. But for the last few years, thigh-high socks have come back into style in a major way, and now the only thing that comes to mind when I think of them are really cute outfits.

Even though they seem easy to wear, thigh-high socks can be a little bit intimidating, especially for someone who’s never worn them before. Last year, I bought a pair of black knit thigh-high socks, and wore them… once. With a plain black dress. Every time I put them on, I felt like they either looked weird on me. Basically, I was really self-conscious. But after seeing all of these pictures of bloggers wearing their socks and looking amazing, I’m ready to give this another try. Here are 20 style tips on how to wear thigh-high socks:

wow, most would never work for a curvy girl (only 2 or 3 seem like they would), most of those styles will simply make me look like a balloon…

    • Emma Bourbon

I noticed that too. If you think about it though there are options in here for curvy girls too. You just have to pick and choose whats right for you. 😀

Short skirt and over the knee socks works perfectly for plus size girls too! Im plus size and im currently wearing it.

  • I’m a great fan of “over the knee ” style , however , I like to wear thigh high socks and thigh high boots or the combination of thigh high socks with boots … I think there are the must have in a lot of style of outfits… there is no fashion for them , they are always ” good every time ” !

“Because thinner models look better !”
Tbh, A thicker woman, aka plump and developed, is a better look.

Just wanted to point out that Number 9 features printed tights/nylons, not OTKs 🙂

    • Emma Bourbon

I noticed that too. Nice attention to detail.

  • Lyndsay

I’m really sorry, but I can’t help but noticing how you guys write tons of body-confidence posts and how being a “big girl” isn’t something to be ashamed about. BUT whenever you make outfit posts it always only featuring really skinny/slim girls, apart from it’s directly targeted towards “big girls”.

I love thigh high socks so much, but seeing as I’m a little bigger in the thigh region, I don’t think that I would be able to pull them off. Maybe if I lose a little weight…

    • Audrey Harbour

There is nothing wrong with having thicker thighs you don’t need to loose weight wear what u want and only think about how cute you look
