Breaking up is hard to do, but sometimes it’s for the best. Unfortunately, our favorite TV shows never got that memo. I know, I know, without cheating, love triangles and general silliness of the romantic persuasion, we might not be as emotionally invested in these shows or characters. But wow, sometimes these characters’ decisions are so ridiculous that it makes us yell at our screens in fury. An how dare they ignore our screams?
Anyway, the point is that it is so exhausting to see characters who don’t belong together end up back together after a break up. You probably have a few TV couples in mind already, right? See you’re thinking of any of these 10 couples below.

Ross/Rachel From Friends
Their on again of again shenanigans were so ridiculous and went on for years. How are any of us supposed to believe that they didn't go on another "break" after the finale?
Lucas/Brooke From One Tree Hill
Lucas didn't even really like Brooke. He loved Payton. He just got with her because she was coming onto him. And yet, after Lucas cheated on her, they still ended up getting back together? Uh, okay...
Craig/Manny + Craig/Ashley From Degrassi
Craig was such a babe. Too bad he was also such a shameless two-timing jerk. And yet, Both Ashley and Manny had a hard time resisting him, even when he showed his true colors. Yikes
Flitz/Olivia From Scandal
No. Stop. No, no, no, no, no. Stop. Please, enough. No, this is so, so messy. Just, stop. Thanks.
Ezra/Aria From Pretty Little Liars
These two shouldn't have gotten together from the jump, but there's a little ray of hope that they'll call it quits for good whenever they break up for some reason or another; broken secrets, secret babies, whatever. But nope, they keep rekindling and rekindling. Even if this couple wasn't a statutory rape nightmare, their never ending drama alone would be a good reason for them to call it quits.
Finn/Quinn From Glee
I don't know, y'all, but I'd imagine it would take a special sort of love to get back together with someone who cheated on you with your BFF and got pregnant on top of that. Wait, did I say love? I meant a special sort of clueless, because that's the only way to describe Finn's actions.
Marissa/Ryan From The O.C.
Marissa and Ryan clearly cared about each other a lot, but as sweet as these two were, they were also so dysfunctional. Of course, much of this had to do with Ryan's flightiness and Marissa's substance abuse problems. Mixing those two personality traits leads to one messy relationship.
Effy/Freddie + Effy/Cook From Skins
What's a teen drama without love triangles? Usually, a better TV show. But try telling that to Skins. Their worst offenders were definitely Effy, Freddie and Cook in seasons three and four. The worst part about all of this was the fact that Freddie and Cook were besties...and they continuously competed against each other for Effy's affections and sexy times. Effy was already experiencing some serious mental health problems, so the last thing she needed were dysfunctional relationships. Effy/self-care was the only ship that should have sailed.
Are you glad that any of these couple got back together? What other TV couples should have refrained from getting back together? Tell us in the comments!
