As someone who REALLY loves school, summer vacation was difficult for me. I always had a summer job and went on a few vacations, but I still had a lot of free time that I didn’t know what to do with. This resulted in me being very, very bored. I know some people have these wild summer breaks. I was not one of those people. In college I took summer classes to fill the void!
Summer boredom is one of those things that I think everyone deals with at some point. I mean, there are only so many times you can go to the pool before it starts to get old. And you feel guilty if you just sit inside (though we don’t mind if you’re on Gurl all day!) and don’t do anything. Summer boredom sucks, and you’ll definitely have these 10 thoughts:
1. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?
2. Everyone’s on vacation.
Why am I not on vacation too?
3. I should have gone to camp.
WHAT IF I HAVE A SECRET TWIN?
4. Maybe I should get a summer job.
Ice cream shop? Waitress? Lifeguard?
5. I kind of wish I were still in school.
At least then I’d have something to do.
6. I wonder if anyone will go on a road trip with me?
Road trips are the best!
7. I could start my summer reading…
Hmm… or I could read some new YA books and push my summer reading!
8. I feel bad just staying inside all day.
“What did you do this summer?” “Oh you know, just spent my entire vacation indoors.”
9. But I’ll literally melt if I go outside.
10. WHEN IS WINTER?
I know I complained about the cold, but COME ON.
