You would think that most celebrities have better things to do than to sub-tweet about other celebrities, right? I mean, I would. But you would be wrong. Plenty of stars have resorted to sub-tweeting out of anger when they’re annoyed with a fellow A-lister. Even though it’s pretty immature, and definitely not a good idea, you have to admit… it’s a little amusing.
Here’s the thing about sub-tweeting: it seems like a good idea when you’re angry and frustrated, but then after you do it and everyone knows who you’re talking about, it’s clear that you made a mistake. Because the Internet never forgets, especially when you’re a famous star. So, here are 12 of the craziest celebrity Twitter feuds. There are way more than just these 12, but including them all would take a little too much time… be nice, celebs!
Rihanna vs. TLCJust this week, Rihanna got in a little bit of a battle with the two remaining members of TLC, Chili and T-Boz. In a recent interview, T-Boz said about Rihanna, "Every time I see you, you don't have to be naked." She added, "It's hard for us to say anything because any time we do, they say, 'Oh TLC must be jealous', but I call a spade a spade." Oof. Never one to keep quiet about criticism, Rihanna shot back on Twitter, saying, "When there's no changing the fact that I'm me, and they're well... they're them." She then posted two more tweets, one of a sad face with a picture of her laughing, one of a winking face with a picture of her sticking her tongue out. It's not hard to figure out who she's referring to. Rihanna loves throwing shade on Twitter. Source: Ivan Nikolov/WENN.com and FayesVision/WENN.com
Nicki MInaj vs. Lil KimEveryone knows that Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim don't get along at all. I'm not sure where the feud started, but about a year ago, Lil Kim kind of flipped out and wrote a ton of angry, nasty tweets about Nicki. She called her names, cursed her out, and basically made her dislike absolutely clear. Nicki didn't respond via Twitter. Source: Dan Jackman/WENN.com and Judy Eddy/WENN.com
Justin Bieber vs. Drake BellIn 2012, Drake Bell's Twitter was hacked, and when he got it back, he he said something about how he wouldn't say rude things about Katy Perry, but "bieber however lol." A few weeks later, he posted a picture of him playing the guitar, saying, "If @justinbieber ever wants guitar lessons..." He tweeted out a few other things about Justin, although Justin didn't really respond except to make a quip about how Drake and Josh was his favorite show when he was a kid. Drake tweeted out things about Justin's arrest, making comments, and called him repulsive in a Buzzfeed interview. Another time, Drake tweeted, “Hey @justinbieber how much are you paying Lil Za to take the coke wrap for ya? Be a man and take responsibility. Learn to be an ADULT!” About a month ago, Justin responded by crashing Drake's album release party - but he only showed up to take pictures with his fans, then left. Awkward. Kanye West vs. Jimmy KimmelOne of the best Twitter feuds ever is definitely Kanye West and Jimmy Kimmel. When Jimmy Kimmel showed a Kanye spoof video on his show, Kanye was NOT happy. He went on an epic Twitter rant (in all caps, of course) about Jimmy. My favorite part? "SHOULD I DO A SPOOF ABOUT YOUR FACE OR YOU F****** BEN AFFLECK…#NODISRESPECTTOBENAFFLECK #ALLDISRESPECTTOJIMMYKIMMEL!!!!" It's all good though. Jimmy had Kanye on the show so they could make up publicly. Source: Judy Eddy/WENN.com and Wenn.com
Chris Brown vs. Frank OceanChris Brown and Frank Ocean definitely are not fans of each other. Their tweets are a little too vulgar for us, but basically, Chris made a comment that Frank did not appreciate. He snapped back at Chris on Twitter and Chris flipped out in a series of tweets that have since been deleted. This is probably what led to the physical fight these two got into a year ago. Miley Cyrus vs. Demi Lovato and Selena GomezA few years ago, Miley, Demi and Selena got into their own little Internet feud. When Demi and Selena were BFFs, they used to make YouTube videos together for their fans and tweet them out. After one of the videos, Miley tweeted out her own - of her and her friend Mandy making fun of Demi and Selena. It was completely obvious that they were doing a parody of their video, and fans flipped out. Source: FayesVision/WENN.com and
Miley Cyrus vs. Sinead O'ConnorMiley is like Rihanna in the sense that she is not one to take criticism quietly. So when Sinead O'Connor wrote an open letter to Miley on Facebook, she was not happy. Sinead's open letter was unnecessary, calling Miley out on her bad behavior as a role model and suggesting she change. Miley also took things a little too far, going on Twitter to compare Sinead to Amanda Bynes (basically saying she's crazy). Sinead wrote yet another open letter to Miley, bashing her for making fun of her. Miley responded with this tweet: "I don't have time to write you an open letter cause I'm hosting & performing on SNL this week." Source: Judy Eddy/WENN.com and Wenn.com
Rihanna vs. CiaraOne of Rihanna's other notable Twitter feuds was with Ciara. After Ciara mentioned Rihanna in an interview, RiRi tweeted, "Why am I still the main topic of her interviews?" Ciara responded with this tweet, referencing a Rihanna song: Somebody please point her in the right direction, cuz she clearly needs love and affection..:)" These two don't get along. Rob Kardashian vs. Rita OraWhen Rob Kardashian and Rita Ora broke up, Rob took his heartbreak to another level... on Twitter, for all the world to see. He tweeted a bunch of mean things about Rita, saying, "When a woman cheats on you with one man I can live with that. People make mistakes, trust me. I have forgiven numerous times…" He added, "But when a woman disrespects herself by messing with more than 20 men all while being in a relationship with a Faithful man…" Another tweet: "I just don't get how a woman can do that to her body. And your career hasn't even launched yet. I don't put up with sloppiness. LOYALTY." Rita never responded on Twitter, but in one interview, she did, saying that she never thought of Rob as her boyfriend. Ouch! Source: Wenn.com
Azealia Banks vs. Lily AllenA while ago, Azealia Banks started a Twitter fight with Lily Allen, calling her husband ugly and saying she saw Lily "coked up." Lily responded "Not even gonna @ her but if she wants to talk about weak , I'm sure her record sales to date should suffice. One hit wonder." She added another tweet: And my husband ? Don't go there bitch Or your totally unnecessary security detail may actually have something to worry about #wannabe." Azealia took it a little too far, when she snapped back, LOL ill be a one hit wonder but you have ugly children and a coke habit….. Shhhhhhh. #SHUTUP #ATMJAMISON" Source: Brian To/WENN.com and Wenn.com
Chelsea Handler vs. Nick CannonChelsea Handler's humor tends to be a little mean, but apparently Nick Cannon isn't down with that. When Nick announced his comedy tour, Chelsea tweeted, "I just heard Nick Cannon is starting a comedy tour. Who's going to do the comedy?" In response, Mariah Carey called her "angry, ugly white trash." A few months later, Chelsea made some comments about Nick and Mariah on her show. This time, Nick responded on Twitter, saying, "I didn’t hear what @chelseahandler said about me because I don’t watch her show. (NO ONE DOES) What channel is it on, public access?” Another tweet said, “I would be glad to have @chelseahandler on any of my shows. I have several...on many different networks.” Source: FayesVision/WENN.com and Judy Eddy/WENN.com
Joan Rivers vs. Lindsay LohanJoan River is another comedy queen who is known to be more than a little bit mean (I really didn't mean to rhyme just now!). Once when Lindsay was facing legal trouble, Joan tweeted a few things about it, including one that said, “Lindsay Lohan said she wouldn’t mind being under oath because she thought Oath was a Norwegian ski instructor." Lindsay finally responded with a tweet that said, “Joan Rivers and her ‘stargument’ make me believe that she and Michael Lohan are a match made in heaven.” Source: Alberto Reyes/WENN.com and Wenn.com
