The Fairly Oddparents is definitely the most clever cartoons Nickelodeon has spawned since Hey Arnold. It was funny without being crass and it was even a little intelligent sometimes; sometimes it really made you think! One of the things that I really loved about this show the most was that the lessons Timmy learned after taking advantage of having fairy godparents were never cheesy. They just emphasized the fact that what we thing we want or might make us happy might not be that great after all. It taught us to be content with not having a perfect life without being too preachy.
If you’re anything like me then you’ve already seen so many episodes of this show that you could talk about it for hours. Well, ain’t nobody got time for that, so here are 10 super memorable moments from The Fairly Odd Parents that will make you want to binge watch every episode.
The Gender Bending EpisodeThis is another one of my favorite episodes! So, Timmy wishes he could become a girl so that he could figure out the perfect present for his longtime crush, Trixie Tang. However, when he spots her at the mall checking out comic books--one of his favorite things--he realizes that there really isn't such a thing as "girl" interests and "boy" interests at all. I love when shows try to break down gender barriers like this. Good job, Nickelodeon! Source: Fairly Odd Parents/Nickelodeon
Chip SkylarkThe fact that I can not only recite the "Icky Vicky" song and "My Shiny Teeth And Me" to this day shows what kind of an impact Chip Skylark had on me. Fun fact: He was voiced by Chris Kirkpatrick from N Sync! Source: Fairly Odd Parents/Nickelodeon
Mom And DadSomehow, despite being neglectful, sort of terrible parents...Mom and Dad were still really endearing. I mean, in a you-should-never-have-given-birth-to-a-child kind of way but still. Source: Fairly Odd Parents/Nickelodeon
Tad And ChadThese two d-bags were probably more annoying than Francis, the bully who always tried to beat Timmy up. It's probably those little sunglasses giving off those bad vibes. Or the fact that they were just terrible, terrible human beings with a lot of money. Source: Fairly Odd Parents/Nickelodeon
Mr. Crocker's Joke Of A LifeSo he used to have fairies when he was a kid, but then he revealed their identity to the world, so then he lost then and then he spent the rest of his life trying to track down fairies. I mean...there's got to be better, more fulfilling hobbies than that. Did he ever consider golfing. Source: Fairly Odd Parents/Nickelodeon
MPreg!CosmoWhen Cosmo was pregnant with Poof, all I could think about was the fact that male seahorses also give birth to their young. Fun fact. Also, this episode was so over the top but brilliant. Source: Fairly Odd Parents/Nickelodeon
Vicky And That Alien MarkRemember that alien Mark who talked like a surfer and was in love with how evil Vicky was? Match made in heaven or hell? Still not sure. Source: Fairly Odd Parents/Nickelodeon
The Gray Blog EpisodeThis is probably one of my favorite episodes of The Fairly Odd Parents. Here's the gist: Timmy is so irritated about his Dentist making fun of his teeth that he wishes that everyone looked the same. So they all turn into gray blobs...which is nice and utopian and all until even in gray blog form, the awful dentist (and his equally awful son) still decide that they're better than everyone else, saying, "Actually we’re the grayest and the blobiest." I think that the important lesson here is that no matter if everyone looks the same or if we all bleed red, there are still going to be dbags out there who will decide that they're better than everyone else for whatever reason. So we might as well embrace our differences than wish we were all the same. Source: Fairly Odd Parents/Nickelodeon
Timmy/TootieOkay, so I know that Tootie was, uh, beyond obsessed with Timmy but...it was hard not to root for these two to get together! I mean, they eventually do get married and have kids according to a flash forward scene in that Fairly Oddparents TV movie "Channel Chasers" but I wish we saw more development between these two on the show. I mean, Tootie was just a lil' too overzealous. She needed a serious chill pill to control her Timmy Turner thirst. Source: Fairly Odd Parents/Nickelodeon
'Dinkleberg.'That's it. Just...Dinkleberg. Source: Fairly Odd Parents/Nickelodeon
