Obviously, we love everything Beyoncé does because everything Beyoncé does is amazing. I really don’t think she can do any wrong if she tried, you guys. Since her last album
dropped literally made us die, she’s been dropping some major knowledge on feminism and sexuality.
Beyoncé is living, breathing proof that you can be sexual and still be successful and a mother and a wife and whatever else you want. In a recent interview with OUT Magazine, Bey crushes everything that we find ridiculous with society these days. She, like us, doesn’t understand why you can’t be sexual and a feminist and all of these other things. Preach! We all should take charge of our sexuality, and here are 10 lessons from Beyoncé to help you do it:
1. You can be whatever you want and still be sexual.
“You can be a businesswoman, a mother, an artist, and a feminist — whatever you want to be — and still be a sexual being. It’s not mutually exclusive.” -Beyoncé, OUT Magazine
2. Be free.
“There is unbelievable power in ownership, and women should own their sexuality. There is a double standard when it comes to sexuality that still persists. Men are free and women are not. That is crazy.” -Beyoncé, OUT Magazine
3. Don’t let men define your sexuality.
“I truly believe that women should be financially independent from their men. And let’s face it, money gives men the power to run the show. It gives men the power to define value. They define what’s sexy. And men define what’s feminine. It’s ridiculous.” –Beyoncé
4. But know that you can be with someone and still be sexual.
“If you are with the right person, it brings out the best version of you.” –Beyoncé
5. Be powerful.
“In my videos, I always want to be a powerful woman. That’s my mission.” –Beyoncé
6. Your sexuality does not depend on your outer beauty.
“We all have our imperfections. But I’m human, and you know, it’s important to concentrate on other qualities besides outer beauty.” –Beyoncé
7. You don’t have to label yourself.
“Why do you have to choose what type of woman you are? Why do you have to label yourself anything? I’m just a woman and I love being a woman.” -Beyoncé
8. Be worth it to yourself.
“Your self-worth is determined by you. You don’t have to depend on someone telling you who you are.” -Beyoncé
9. Don’t get caught up in sexual stereotypes. Do what makes you happy.
“We are all the same and we all want the same things: the right to be happy, to be just who we want to be and to love who we want to love.” –Beyoncé, OUT Magazine
10. Be ***Flawless.
We can’t all be Beyoncé, but we can try.
