YOU GUYS. Catching Fire is officially in theaters, and I hope you all did the right thing and viewed it at midnight. If not, don’t worry because I calculated that you have enough time this weekend to see it approximately 19.7 times. I was super duper lucky to see it earlier this week, and I have to tell you that it was everything I could have wanted and more.
I loved The Hunger Games, but Catching Fire blew me away. I’m going to see it again tonight, and I’m even more excited this time because the first viewing was really overwhelming. There was so much to take in! Plus, I hadn’t read the books in almost three years so I sort of forgot what happened.
Anyway, I loved it. You’ll love it. I just want to warn you that you might have extreme feelings during the movie. I thought you might want to know what you’re getting yourself into. Here is every feeling you’ll have during Catching Fire as told by GIFs from the movies!
(MILD SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE BOOKS. SERIOUSLY DON’T KEEP GOING IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW SORT OF WHAT HAPPENS.)
When the opening credits start you’ll be too excited to contain your joy.
You and your seat neighbor will exchange nervous glances like this:
You’ll feel happy, yet anxious, when you see Katniss for the first time.
Any time Katniss and Gale kiss.
Any time Katniss and Peeta kiss.
When you see President Snow, you just want to throw ALL the shade.
You’ll feel super sad because things are getting REAL in the districts.
When President Snow announces the details of the Quarter Quell and that the tributes are being pulled from previous tributes.
At some point you realize you need to get.it.together.
When you first see Finnick you will be overwhelmed by his hotness and throw away any doubts you had of Sam Claflin being cast.
Every time Katniss does something sassy, you feel like a proud best friend.
The first time you see the arena, you will be on the edge of your seat (platform) like Katniss and might hyperventilate.
Basically the entire time they’re in the arena, you feel terrified.
You won’t know how to react to all the things that happen, and you just want someone to hold you.
After it ends.
And then you realize you have to wait a whole year until the next movie.
Someone get me a sugar cube to drown my sorrows in.
Did you see Catching Fire yet? What did you think? Tell us in the comments!
