You guys, I am so excited for Thanksgiving next week! I talked to my dad this morning to go over the menu (we’re cooking together), and I could not be happier. I’m really pumped to see my family, but it’s been a LONG time since I’ve had some real home-cooked meals. We don’t usually do a big fancy family Thanksgiving. It’s generally laid back and just about enjoying everyone’s company, eating and watching football. Fingers crossed that my dog does not get into the turkey like he did last time.
Thanksgiving isn’t just a dinner in my house, it’s an event. You have to strategize how you’re going to get through the day and plan it out or else you’ll be too deep in mashed potatoes to even make it to dessert. Here are 10 thoughts you’ll have during Thanksgiving dinner:
“I hope I don’t have to sit at the kids’ table.”
“OMG why isn’t dinner ready yet? It’s been, like, five hours.”
“How can I best avoid conversation with [insert unpleasant relative name here]?”
“FINALLY I AM SO EXCITED!”
“This what I hope heaven is like.”
“What is that?”
“If I don’t get a serving of [insert favorite Thanksgiving food here] I will lose it.”
“Can I eat this without feeling like I’m going to die?”
“When can I unbutton my pants?”
“Ok. I’m dying.”
