It’s no surprise to me when people who work together strike up a romantic relationship. You’re with these people every day, talking and interacting – and sometimes work gets boring and you just want to flirt with someone to pass the time. It’s even less of a surprise when Hollywood co-stars start dating. Not only are these celebrities with each other all day, every day, but they’re also working EXTRA close to each other – in some cases, even making out or pretending to have sex. A hookup seems inevitable.
But celebrities date other celebrities all the time and eventually, we forget about those old couples who dated after meeting each other on set. Isn’t it fun to remember them and wonder what went wrong? Kidding… kind of. Here are 12 co-stars who dated after starring together on your favorite old TV shows from the ’90s and early 2000’s because couples trivia is always fun.
Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes from Dawson's CreekAfter meeting on the set of Dawson's Creek, Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes started dating. Actually, it was quite serious - Katie recently revealed that Joshua was her "first love." Aw! Joshua also revealed that Katie called him after her divorce with Tom Cruise and said how nice it was to reconnect. That gives me all sorts of feels.
Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody from The O.C.I literally almost cried when these two broke up. Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson as Seth and Summer on The O.C. were perfect and having them become a couple in real life was even more perfect. They dated for two adorable years and then broke up because life is sad sometimes.
John Stamos and Lori Loughlin from Full HouseJohn Stamos and Lori Loughlin played the cutest married couple ever on Full House and then slyly sort of dated for a little bit... which I don't think anyone knew until John Stamos got all sentimental on everyone. He told the Huffington Post that Lori was "the one who got away" and said they went on a few dates. When asked about it, Lori said, "I will always love John, always." OH GOD PLEASE DATE.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Lark Voorhies from Saved By The BellMark-Paul Goseelaar has stated in several interviews that he dated Lark Voorhies for three years after meeting on Saved By The Bell. Lark didn't play his girlfriend on the show - that was Kelly Kapowski, duh - but I guess that didn't stop an on-set romance from happening. These two looked adorable together.
Alexis Denisof and Alyson Hannigan from Buffy The Vampire SlayerThe only couple who stayed together on this list is Alexis Denisof and Alyson Hannigan. How cute! After meeting on Buffy, these two started dating and then got married. This year, they've been married for 10 years (and even recently renewed their vows!) and have two daughters. They're a beautiful couple and seriously rare in Hollywood. Source: FayesVision/WENN.com
Jennifer Garner and Scott Foley from FelicityIt's hard for me to imagine Jennifer Garner with anyone other than Ben Affleck, but she dated and married Scott Foley before she met him. The two met when Jennifer guest-starred on Felicity and they were married for four years but Jennifer said they "never had a shot." Featureflash">Source: Featureflash/ShutterStock
Jason Segel and Linda Cardellini from Freaks and GeeksI never knew this until now, but Jason Segel and Linda Cardellini started dating after working together on Freaks and Geeks. I guess I'm surprised because on the show, Jason Segel's character was so obsessed with Linda Cardellini's character, who didn't seem to give an eff about him. A lot of people think that Jason based the character of Sarah Marshall from Forgetting Sarah Marshall off of Linda, but he has never confirmed it, saying she was a "great girlfriend." I kind of hope Sarah was based on Linda because that movie is genius. Source: WENN.com
Milo Ventimiglia and Alexis Bledel from Gilmore GirlsIt broke my heart when Rory and Jess broke up on Gilmore Girls and it broke my heart even more when Milo Ventimiglia and Alexis Bledel broke up in real life. Ugh. Why can't this perfect couple just exist everywhere? They dated for over three years after meeting on Gilmore Girls. Seriously, I'm depressed right now. Source: Sue Schneider/Shooting Star/ WEN
Katherine Heigl and Jason Behr from RosellI never watched Roswell so I honestly am not familiar with the show or the characters, but apparently Katherine Heigl and Jason Behr both starred in it and started dating after meeting on set. This is sort of weird because on the show, they played brother and sister. So, a little awkward. Source: Featureflash/ShutterStock
Emily VanCamp and Chris Pratt from EverwoodThis is another couple who played brother and sister on the small screen and then went on to date in real life. Emily and Chris met on the set of Roswell and dated and were adorable for a little while. Emily now dates her Revenge co-star Josh Bowman and they're really freakin' cute together, so I guess TV sets work out for her. Source: S_bukley/ShutterStock
Sara Gilbert and Johnny Galecki from RoseanneSara Gilbert and Johnny Galecki met on the set of Roseanne and dated for a while. Sara had a lot to say about it recently. She said that she had a crush on Johnny and thought he was cute, so they started dating, but every time they made out, she felt depressed afterwards. It didn't take long for her to realize that she was a lesbian and she said Johnny was so sweet about the whole thing and really helped her out. She's now engaged to Linda Perry and still has awesome feelings towards Johnny. So sweet! Source: s_bukley/ShutterStock
Scott Speedman and Keri Russell from FelicityHow early 2000's is this picture? Keri and Scott played a couple on Felicity and then went on to actually date in real life. The two are with other people now, but remain friends. In fact, Keri has even said that she calls him when she needs a friend. Cute!
Did you know about any of these couples? Which one surprised you the most? What other old TV co-stars who dated did I forget about? Tell me in the comments.
