10 Things You’re Probably Not Doing But Should Be

I’m really terrible at doing things for myself. I’ve always been this way, and I suspect I get it from my mom because she always takes care of everyone else before taking care of herself. It’s not a bad thing to put others before you, but it is bad when you forget about yourself.

This morning, I saw on The Huffington Post that women would rather give up sex than alone time. Celestial Seasonings surveyed 500 women, and 76 percent said they need “me time.” I found this really refreshing, but then it made me upset because 42 percent said they get less than an hour of “me time” per day. AND that 75 percent admitted to telling white lies in order to squeeze in that “me time.” That is not okay!

Time to yourself is so important. I know because I always forget to give myself some time and then I freak out and have to recharge for a whole weekend. Having “me time” isn’t selfish, it’s necessary. You have to take care of yourself and your well-being before you take care of anyone else in order to be a productive human.

I challenge all of you to start making some time for yourself every single day. Here are 10 things you can do to give yourself “me time.”

    I miss being able to do number 6 at the moment. I’m at secondary school from half 8 until half 5, and in winter the sun is only rising when I get up and it’s pitch dark when I get home. I miss the sun!
