For the past year, I’ve been living without cable. Having your own cable bill is expensive and not really worth it if you don’t spend a lot of time at home, which I don’t. So I live strictly on the internet. But that means I don’t get to watch live TV. I’ve been going over to my new boo’s apartment to snag some shows lately, but for the most part I watch everything after it airs.
And that means my life online when shows are live is a living hell. Do you have any idea how hard it is to surf the web or be on Twitter when everyone is live-tweeting about it?! It is the WORST. I basically have to quarantine myself to avoid spoilers. Sometimes I don’t get to watch an episode until a few days later if I’m busy, which is really really difficult.
I hate spoiling shows for others, and I wish everyone else had the same courtesy. Alas, this is the world we live in.
So you either missed or couldn’t watch your show.
You need to get online to check a few things, but you’re scared to see anything.
You decide to go to bed early, but you can’t sleep because all you can think about is your show.
At school, EVERYONE is talking about last night’s episode.
Meanwhile you’re like:
You need to use the internet to do some research for that paper, but you just can’t.
You feel so alone because you don’t want to get on Twitter so you haven’t interacted online all day.
You basically have blinders on.
This is torture. WHEN CAN YOU WATCH YOUR SHOW?!
You finally get home and check Hulu or other internet sources to see if your episode is up yet.
BUT IT’S NOT.
Guess you’re never catching up ever.
Do you have trouble avoiding spoilers online? Do you read them anyway if you haven’t seen an episode? Tell us in the comments!
