When I was in middle school and everyone started wearing deodorant, there was a girl who hadn’t quite hopped on the bandwagon yet. And she got bullied mercilessly by the mean girls in my class. If you thought Regina George was mean, think again.
I let this girl borrow my deodorant after gym class and then I was made fun of for her BO rubbing off onto my deodorant and then onto me. Ridiculous right?
The truth is, mean stinks. That’s why Secret’s Mean Stinks campaign is so important and why we’re Ganging Up For Good to stand up against girl-to-girl bullying. To inspire you to join the campaign, here are some fearless female characters that stand up for what’s right:
Hermione is fearless in every sense of the word. I mean, she battles some of the darkest and most powerful wizards in the world! She stands up for her friends and even goes toe to toe with the dreadful Draco Malfoy.
Katniss sacrifices herself in place of her sister, helps another tribute while in the Hunger Games and goes against her own government. She’s not afraid of anything, and she doesn’t care how she smells after being in the arena.
Veronica is a fearless teen who solves crime in her spare time. She’s always looking for justice and kicks butt doing it.
Rory’s more than a pretty, doe-eyed face with good hair. She’s a nice girl who tries to inspire others to be nice to each other. Everyone she comes in contact with wants to be a better person.
The PLL Girls
Hanna, Spencer, Emily and Aria are reformed mean girls who are going up against some serious bullying. As in the kind that kills people. And they’re doing it all on their own.
Who is your favorite fearless female character? Tell us in the comments!
