Sleepovers are usually depicted as fun-filled nights full of popcorn and movies and gossiping about people we think are cute. Those are elements of sleepovers that never really change. But as I got older, most of the sleepovers I attended were a little more meaningful than watching Bring It On and eating candy. We talked about cute guys/girls as much as we discussed our hopes and fears. We bonded over shared secrets, togetherness, and–of course–a lot of girl power. Sleepovers remind you who your friends are and why they’re awesome enough to be there for you when you’re crying about life over a slice of greasy cheese pizza.
So here’s a playlist to nights spent whispering to each other until you fall asleep, waking up to discover your friend snores and growing up.
