Why Blind Dates Are The Absolute Worst In GIFs

Last night I got invited on a triple blind date with two of my friends. I didn’t really want to go because it was a pretty long day with work and bra fittings and all. And I’m not a fan of the whole blind date thing. But my friend needed me, so I figured I could at least do it as a favor.

I thought we were all being set up, but one of the girls is already dating someone so she brought her almost-BF. My other friend met a guy using Tinder so he was bringing his friend along for me. Weird, I know. BUT YOLO OR WHATEVER.

Anyway. It was strange, and it did not go well. I never want to go on a blind date ever again for the rest of eternity.

Here’s how the night went:

My friends convinced me to go, and I was basically like

So I met up with my two girls.

And then we got a text that they were going to be late.

They showed up an HOUR late.

When they walked in, my initial reaction was this:

And they were all “Sorry we’re late!”

They literally had nothing interesting to talk about.

My “match” asked where I was from and promptly made fun of my Southern accent.

They wanted us to come somewhere else with them, but we said no because they were late and rude.

And we were all like

Then my friend’s date got really mad that we didn’t want to go with them and started yelling at her.

And I was like

Then they said they were leaving.

And we were all like

Uugggh yes, my co-worker set me up on a blind date with her friend’s cousin or something like that. They kept talking him up and making him sound so great (this was before I realized I was gay), and while I was reluctant I finally agreed. When we did meet up it was SO awkward. There was no click (and not just because of the whole lesbian thing, just on the most basic level of human interaction), and we never spoke again after it. He wasn’t a bad guy or anything, but my goodness it was not an enjoyable experience.
