Why do men like breasts? Or, more specifically, why do some guys like big boobs more than smaller boobs? I think it’s safe to say that we’re all pretty curious to know exactly what it is about boobs (which are really just pockets of fat) that drive some men crazy.
But can there ever really be a clear answer to the question of why some men like bigger boobs? After all, isn’t everyone attracted to different things? Is it really true that certain groups of people are attracted to certain things? Basically, is there really a science behind physical attraction? According to a few different studies, yes – Psychology Today recently posted an article about why certain men like bigger breasts and the results are kind of surprising.
So, why are some dudes really into D-cups while some dudes dig A-cups? According to one study, men who don’t have a lot of money are more into big boobs while men who are more financially secure like smaller boobs. Doesn’t it sound crazy that the amount of money you have could influence what size breasts you like? Um, yeah, it does.
But apparently, one view on female breast size is that it acts as “a signal of fat reserves, which in turn advertises access to resources.” Psychologists tested out this idea by asking men from different socioeconomic backgrounds what size breasts they found more attractive. Sure enough, the idea seemed to be true – the men with less material goods liked bigger breasts more. Why? It sounds like they associate large breasts with more money and resources. Since poorer men are most likely striving for more money, it would make sense that they would like something that symbolizes more money. How do breasts symbolize “more resources?” Honestly, I couldn’t tell you.
The next study found that guys who were hungry were more like to find big boobs more desirable, while guys who were not hungry were more into small boobs. Completely random, right? Apparently this study was based on the evolutionary perspective that breasts are a sign of a woman’s ability to have and take care of kids. To tell you the truth, I’m still pretty confused as to how that relates to being hungry or not hungry, but okay. I’ll go with it.
Lastly, researchers tested out this theory even more and discovered that guys who really want to be fathers at some point like bigger breasts, while guys who don’t really want to be dads liked smaller breasts. So, it looks like that evolutionary theory about boobs rings true – it seems that some men do associate larger breasts with a woman’s ability to be a good mom.
So, to recap: guys who like big breasts generally do not have a lot of money, want to be fathers one day and are hungry. Men who like small breasts have a good amount of money, don’t want to be a dad and are not hungry.
Does this sound completely ridiculous to anyone else except me? While I sort of get the science behind each of these ideas, at the same time, I’m having a hard time believing these results. And that’s not only because these studies were pretty small (the dad one only looked at 67 men), but also because it just sounds silly to me. How does hungry and money affect what kind of boobs you like? More importantly, why do we need to know why some dudes like big boobs? Maybe some guys just like the way they feel! Maybe it depends on the girl. I don’t know, I just think there are a lot of other factors to consider.
That being said, these findings were pretty interesting. And so, I want to know what you think about them: do they sound legit or ridic?

So I have a 34DD chest (they’ve actually gotten smaller since I’ve lost weight, they used to be E’s!) And most of my guy friends who’ve hit on me did not have a lot of money…but I know for a fact that more than half of them would never ever want kids.
Either way I think that breast prefrances are based more on psychology rather than biology or evolution. Plus I think that the girl’s personality counts alot more than what cup size she wears. A girl can have the best boobs in the world but a guy’s not going to date her if she has a terrible personality.
i have small boobs as in cup A, my boyfriend and i have been going out for a year and all we talk about is how much we can’t wait to have children and all that. He has a job as well as going to college and he also says he doesn’t like big boobs. he’s never all that hungry though
I go to a private school and most the guys there love big boobs. My boyfriend goes to a (public) high school and he thinks it depends on the girl . He says that if theyre too big itst looks bad and make it harder to get physically close to a girl and that he doesnt like that.
I have DD’s, and my boyfriend is a college student with 2 jobs, he’s always hungry, and he wants to be a dad.
In response to the mom and hungry things, I actually found out recently that women with smaller boobs produce more milk because the ducts have more room to expand, meaning feedings are more satisfying and satisfy longer!
Hahaha this is funny, im going to go up to a my friend with big boobs tommorow and tell herr that her husband in the future will be hungry and not have much money but wants to be a dad!
This is actually pretty true in my observations… I know that sounds dumb, but really. Where I live, I go to school with people who aren’t very wealthy. And most of the guys go after girls with HUGE tits. I’m only a 32A and I’m 16 and none of them find me attractive. But when I went to a private school with more wealthy people, the males found smaller chested girls more attractive.. this is true.
As for size, I’ve always been attracted to the smaller A/B cups. I just like the perkier sizes. I’ve always thoguht more than a handfull was a waste. However, what one should always consider is the size of a womans frame and how her breast naturally flow (fit) into her frame. The article is full of crap and I can only say that to appreciate a woman and her entire beauty, is a kin to appriciate art. Breast are a beautiful part of her body but too big and they become a distraction and and eyesore. I prefer the entire package of a woman, the breast are just an accessory that comes with the package deal..

They keep coming out with these crazy studies to try and answer these questions to which there really are no answers. Like… just leave it alone! I know men’s and women’s brains are wired a bit differently, but I’m a lesbian so I love boobs, and I size really doesn’t matter. I don’t make much money, I don’t have any desire to be a parent, but I like bigger and smaller boobs, it really doesn’t matter. I think when it comes down to it, if you like boobs and are seeing a pair of them, your reaction is just going to be “Sweet!” and you’re not really going to be concerned with size. But again, I’ve got a female brain, not a male brain, so I can’t speak for them lol.

I think this is ridiculous and way to generalized to be even considered close to a fact. How the hell can you conclude that if you’re hungry you look big boobs? But then once you eat you like small boobs? Is that how it works…hahaha I mean come on it makes no sense
We have a reptilian part of our brain that acts on instincts. It mostly acts when we are hungry because we try to survive. So maybe, when guys are hungry, their instincts kick in and therefore, the whole fertility thing comes in mind, as mentioned in the study.
The hungry one sounds legit to me. It might relate 2 breast feeding. Bigger boobs=more milk, less boobs=less milk. If hes not hungry it wouldnt matter.
but doesn’t that mean that he wants to drink from them himself? Which would be kind of gross.
Personally, I find that these results make perfect sense when it comes to the instinct of survival, weird in this day and age but in the animal world having bigger fat stores and a way to feed young (boobies) would be more desirable to a male that doesn’t have as many resources. And about the money thing, usually the only people we here about that have massive breasts are those that have the money for fake ones so we kinda lead ourselves into that… Anyway, interesting study lol
OMG! I’m so glad about this article im only 14, and I have a size G cup. In fact last year i was playing volleyball, and my friend wasn’t in the game at the time and this guy came up to her and asked who I was and she said my friend savanna and he said i have a nice ass and boobs. That was really weird
