I sometimes feel i have nothing at all in common with either of my parents. On holiday, they like to stroll around and see if anything takes their fancy. I like to have at least a rough plan of what I’m going to do. My mum absolutely refuses to remember anything that happened more then six months ago, unless it’s embarrassing for me. She is really unclear about what I am and aren’t allowed to do. I always try to relive what happened to me, and think about other ways I could have dealt with situations. I would really love to have a clear idea of what I can and can’t do, so that I’m not always worried something I do will make her mad. She is very secretive and hates having long talks about our lives. I love talking about our lives and I would tell her everything if only she would listen properly. She doesn’t feel the need to have friends she could trust with anything and she doesn’t understand when I complain that I can’t trust any of my friends and I feel like that I’m going to burst with all things I could never tell them.
My mum and I are such complete opposites that I sometimes wonder how on earth we are related.

Parents aren’t easy to talk to. If you’re trying to talk to your parents and they start to talk over you, just wait and calmly all them to let you finish. Don’t raise your voice. That only males them mad.

What do you do when your parents don’t want you dating but you are anyway and they keep asking you what’s going on with this boy and you keep saying nothing’s going on? I want to tell them but I can’t and the lie is getting bigger since I have been hiding it for more than 10 months now
