GIF My Life: Dealing With Painful Period Cramps

Quick poll: who thinks painful period cramps are the worst? Seriously, there’s nothing like starting out your day all find and dandy, and then BAM you feel that bad cramp come on and you just know it’s going to be a long day. Maybe even a long few days.

Luckily, we have a handy guide to dealing with your menstrual cramps or even more tips about how to get rid of them. We don’t want your period to totally cramp your style (see what I did there?). Sadly, poor GIF Girl hasn’t had a chance to read these articles yet. So what is life like for her dealing with bad period cramps? Let’s find out.

I wake up not to my alarm clock, but to that familiar feeling like my insides are destroying themselves.

I’m not proud of it, but I definitely use some strong language to describe how I feel.

My painful cramps are bringing about so many confusing emotions right now.

Ugh, all the knots my stomach is in is just making me physically exhausted. The only thing that helps is to just lay still.

But OF COURSE, this is on a day when I need to stand up in class and give a final presentation, so I have to go to school.

At school, I want absolutely zero people in my vicinity. Unless you know magic to make this go away, do not come near me.

If anyone DOES get near me, I get right to the point.

My friends are all, “Oh I know, my cramps can be so bad.” Yes, but you don’t have them RIGHT NOW, so shush.

And if any of my guy friends dare to say anything, I have something to say about that.

It’s been hours of agony. When will it stop?!

I go to the nurse and she lets me lay down for two periods (hah). Then she insists I need to carry on with my regular schedule to make my presentation.

I finish presenting and then all the cramp pain I’d been trying to hide comes rushing in all at once. I can’t pretend anymore and just let out all my feels.

After school, I tell my coach I feel sick. She asks if I plan to practice. I can definitely answer that.

I finally get home and I don’t even want to walk to my bed. I just decide to make the floor my home.

My little sister finds me laying on the bathroom floor. She doesn’t really know what’s going on, but at least she tries to be nice.

I decide to call it a night and try to escape via sleep. As I lay there, I remember I get to wake up and do this again tomorrow.

Urgh, I hate period cramps so much. :P But yea I can definitely relate to these gifs. Only last night did I have to spend the night in the bathroom as I felt like I was going to throw up from the amount of pain I was having. If my cramps were as bad as they were last night, though, I wouldn’t go into school. No. way. xD

I find that a heating pad, something hot ( coffee, hot chocolate), and pain reliever helps :)

Omg I used to get Cramps so bad I couldn’t get up. Apparently to anyone else it looked like labor pains. (I was screaming and crying) I Also had heavy unpredictable periods. I finally got medication that puts me on a reg. cycle. On a pain scale of 1-10 it used to be a 20 now its probally a 7. I just use heat and pain medication

I know the feeling. . . every month. I hate my life on those days. Sometimes I literally cannot move because of the pain. I take more than the recommended dose of ibuprofen, and it still doesn’t go away.

Omg Dr Who!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys should somehow involve the dr in every post… Please?

Even though it says not to on the package, doctors say that you can take between three and four ibuprofen on bad days, (provided you don’t have a liver problem). Seriously, it’s ridiculous how low the doses are. Of course, check with your doctor, but it will really help you. Also birth control.

DONNA NOBLE. (the gif that says: “Please don’t make me go back.”) Also I have never in my life experienced cramps so bad that I went to the nurse or cried in class. I have felt bloated and insecure till the point where I despise every minute of a school day though.
