Three hundred and fifty-one women and 177 heterosexual men viewed the photos and rated each face for attractiveness, masculinity, health, and parenting ability. Women ranked heavily stubbled faces as the most attractive.”
First of all, I’m really glad science is studying important things like beards. Second, I am really torn on the issue of scruff. Is scruff hot? From afar, yes. But up close? No way.
Scruff HURTS, y’all. And every guy thinks they can pull it off so they grow these awkward, patchy goatees. I don’t know why they do this, but they do. Or they end up with a neck beard.
My college boyfriend always had scruff, and it was just UGH. I have really sensitive skin so every time he would kiss me, I’d end up with beard burn on my face. And that is not a cute look. Sometimes it would get so bad that my face would actually bleed from getting scratched by stubble.
I literally had to tell him to shave like every day and then we’d get into fights about it. Once he told me “Well I didn’t want you to cut your hair, but you did it anyway.” Um, sorry bro, but my haircut did not cause you physical pain.
I like scruff in the way that I like dangerous jungle cats. They’re nice to look at, but you don’t want to get too close or you’ll get scratched.

My boyfriend has facial hair that I ABSOLUTELY love. When he’s clean shaven it makes him look way too young. His scruff makes him look manlier
and not to mention super sexy….Sometimes he tends to go to long w/o a shave and his beard grows way too long and all over his neck (he then looks like a caveman) lol but when he cuts it down and shapes it up, he looks GREAT. I love feeling his scruff when his face rubs up against any part of my body

I like some scruff if we aren’t kissing. I hate beard burn so I ask that my boyfriend shaves before he comes over. I play flute in band so if I get beard burn, it affects my playing a bit.
I was actually surprised how much I liked it when my boyfriend grew a “beard.” He started growing facial hair about the time that we started dating. He would shave, but he wasn’t very good at it.The first time we had a full out make out session I had a rash on my face for a week. Things got better eventually, I told him about this wondrous thing called shaving cream, he improved his shaving abilities.Then one day I noticed that he had stopped shaving .I told him very clearly that I wasn’t in to beards, that whatever he was planning had to go. He looked like a wounded puppy dog but agreed, months later I noticed that it was happening again, this time I relented. We agreed that he could start growing a beard, so long as he shaved it at the first sign of my discomfort or disapproval of this new look. He never got a full out beard but instead a read curly sort of scuffle that was soft on my face and surprisingly attractive. I loved his new fuzzy face, pared with his shaggy curly reddish hair. I’ve never kissed anyone, so I wouldn’t know what it’s like to kiss a guy with a beard, but I think guys with beards are very attractive. I think it adds character to the guy’s face.
I think it’s just your sensitive skin. Because back in highschool I was seeing a guy that had scruff, and my face did what yours did; but after a few weeks, my face got used to the sensation and didn’t get aggitated as much. Thankfully, the guy I am with now is a marine, so he is used to keeping clean shaved
Men with beards.
My boyfriend has a beard and facial hair. It doesnt bother me at all. Its not a lot but we’re African American so it is coarse. I find him really sexy when he firsts shaves, sexy with stubble, and really fricking hot with beard( its not like super long, just enough hang like half an inch and its well kept)
