Do Your Boobs Define You? Tatler Magazine Thinks So

Tatler Magazine is under fire for its latest issue featuring a list of society women and their breasts. Tatler is the world’s oldest magazine that focuses on high society living so many are surprised that such a prestigious publication has made such an egregious error in judgment.

The new May issue includes a list of “the most magnificent, marvellous breasts in all society” that features a three-page spread of 34 famous women in Britain. But it doesn’t focus on the women and their achievements at all. The spread only focuses on their boobs, giving them all Flava Flav-style nicknames like “Ginger Tits” and “Royal Tits.” Charming, no?

Rightfully so, a majority of the women are furious over the feature. A Facebook page and Twitter account have since been created called “No Titler At Tatler” in an effort to get the magazine to remove the spread and issue an apology for it.

The problem here is that these women, like Helen Mirren (Theatrical Tits) and ex-member of Parliament Louise Mensch (Tweeting Tits), are all very successful and have done great things. Yet in one three-page spread, they have been reduced to being identified by their boobs.

Louise Mensch, who is now a columnist for The Sun, spoke out on Twitter:

This is a blatant display of sexism, and I’m so surprised that an established publication like Tatler even let this idea live past a pitch meeting. Do women have boobs? Yes. Do they define us? No, absolutely not.

I have boobs, but is that all I am? According to Tatler, maybe so. I suppose they would call me “Editing Tits” or something. Maybe “Coffee Tits” because of my caffeine addiction.

Even if this was supposed to be a joke, it’s just not funny. Here are a bunch of incredibly successful women who have worked very hard to be recognized by their work and talents, not by the fact that they’re women. Yet all of that hard work is just forgotten when they’re referred to by their boobs.

Your boobs do not define you. Your actions and how you live your life do, which I guess makes Tatler the biggest boob of all in this scenario.

I think it’s really sexist to refer as women as they were just physical parts. There may be books about penises, but our society doesn’t tell men that they are sex objects, nor do the base their worth on their looks, nor are their outfits and bodies always scrutinized like women’s are. Society does treat women differently. And it needs to stop!

Now way do my boobs define me but they are part of me and I guess they do in a way affect the way people see me, I dont think that is right but I think society judges people that way.

And the magazine is sexist but I think there are some popular books out there that show nothing but men and a pictures of their penis, it may be called the Naked Male or The Penis Book, but it does the same thing with guys. Obviously they are showing guys with big dicks and not small ones because society seems to like guys that way.
