When I was high school, I tweezed the heck out of my eyebrows because that was the thing to do. I had super thin brows with a shape that didn’t flatter my face at all. I remember looking in the mirror one day and longing for the big, bushy brows that I had as a kid.
I vowed to grow them out and shape them to fit my face, and I did! Now I have thick, strong eyebrows with the correct angle, and I love them. I trim and tweeze and always make sure they look just right, and I’m going to pass this information along to you beauties!
Shaping your brows is much easier than you think so don’t be scared! Also, remember that your eyebrows are sisters, not twins. There’s no need to stress if they aren’t exactly identical.

Tweezers
I highly recommend investing in a good pair of tweezers! Crappy tweezers will snap the hair and won't pull it all the way out. Mine are Tweezerman, which offer free sharpening for life!
A brush or spooly
This is an eyebrow brush and lash separator combo. You can also use a spooly (like a clean mascara wand) to brush up your eyebrow hairs.
Scissors
Do not use regular scissors! These are small hair shears that I use for my brows and to cut my bangs. You just want a small, sharp pair.
White Eyeliner
Any kind will do! This is going to help you mark off parts of your brow.
Find where your brow should start
Take a brush and line it up from the inner part of your nostril. Where it hits on your brow bone is where your brow should start. If you have wide set eyes and want them to look closer, start your brows further in. If you have narrow set eyes and want them to look farther apart, start your brows further out.
Find your arch
From the same starting point on your nostril, make a diagonal line that goes across your pupil. Where that line hits on your brow is where your arch should fall.
Find the end
Now move the diagonal to fall along the corner of your eye. This is where your brow should end.
Brush brows up
Brush your brow hairs in the front section upward. Hairs that are too long will show above the your brow line.
Snip!
This can be scary so be careful and don't close your eyes! Trim any hairs that are too long and fall above your brow. Trimming your eyebrows gives a nice, clean look.
Find your borders
Before tweezing, I like to frame my brows with white eyeliner to make sure I'm keeping the shape I want. Anything outside the white line gets plucked.
Tweeze
Pluck out any hairs that fall out of the shape you want.
Ta-da!
You're done! You can set your brows in place by using a wax or brow gel, but that's totally optional.
Do you shape your own brows? Do you tweeze or get them waxed? Are your eyebrows thick or thin? Tell me in the comments!
