“Well, where do I start. There’s a boy, who I have completely fallen in love with in these past few months. He feels the same exact way. The problem? My selfish parents have put our house up for sale, and it sold. We are moving about 4 states away. I can’t wrap my mind around it quite yet. I’m a junior, so only a little high school left. But I cannot let him go. What we have cannot be replaced. And I want to do a long distance relationship, but I can’t make him do that. I wish I knew what to do. I can’t let him go. Help?”

Well to start I would say that if you love him try it out. I’m in a long distance relationship and its hard at times but it will be worth it. I think you should talk to him and see what he wants. If he truly feels the same way he might want to try it out. I’m only a sophomore in high school and my boyfriend moved from Pennsylvania to Georgia before our one year, but we decide to keep dating. I think its one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life so far. I would have to say that you should try it out and see how it goes. I hope everything works out for you, and if someone says LDRs don’t work out just ignore them.

I know what it’s like and long distance is hard at any age. My advice is to try it out. Lay down the rules like how often you will talk to each other, how often you can visit each other (if possible) and if you can see other people or not. It might seem obvious but it’s good to lay down the law so to speak when you’re long distance. Long distance can work, I have had a long distance relationship work and it happened in my senior year of HS and it’s been two years and we are still together. It just takes a lot of trust, communication, time, and most of all love. You have to keep trying and be patient with yourself. It can be hard but if you can get through that you can get through anything. You should give it a try and know that if it doesn’t work out at least you tried to make it work. I wish you well but don’t get too focused on him, you still need to work on you and what you want to do with your life
