10 Pranks From ’90s Television Episodes To Prepare You For April Fools’ Day

I am not a huge fan of April Fools’ Day. I feel like most pranks gravitate toward the potentially dangerous or the kind of gross and there can be some real consequences!

To help me prove this point, I have round up some notable pranks from ’90s TV (okay, and the early 2000s). I figure if you’re into pranks they can give you a laugh, but I hope you realize that many of these also serve a lesson about the dangers of pranking!

In honor of the upcoming “holiday” here are some classic throwback TV pranks to perhaps inspire you, but more so, I hope remind you that pranking is a dangerous road. Oh and by the way, if anyone tries to pull a prank on me this year, I will probably scream.

Recess

Elementary school… where the lifelong prank obsession begins for many.

The continuation of that other episode! Guys, the Recess school was a prank haven.

Even Stevens

Poor, Ren. I imagine she feels the same way about April Fool’s as I do, and yet she is the target of all these pranks. Sad.

Seriously, can we leave Ren alone? But Louis was kind of the ultimate prank schemer.

Friends

Even though Chandler was supposed to be the “funny” one, even he was victim to regular pranks.

If I was Rachel, I would probably never forgive anyone for this prank.

Kenan and Kel

It’s no surprise that April Fools’ Day is this funny ’90s duo’s fave holiday.

As Told By Ginger

Another April Fools’ Day episode. PS I totally forgot about this show until this moment. There goes my weekend.

Pepper Ann

Too cool for seventh grade, but not too cool to just say “no” to pranks.

Boy Meets World

I wasn’t lying guys – this all sparked the prank war that nearly ruined friendships. Point proven that pranks are the worst. I win!

Bonus: Here is a Full House prank (and another) – they wouldn’t embed, but too good not to include.

Do you participate in April Fools’ Day? When do you think a prank goes too far? Tell us in the comments.

I you’re actually creative, they’re harmless. For example, I knew the janitor in middle school so I got her to let me into my one teacher’s classroom (who’s birthday is also on April fools day) and I saran-wrapped his entire desk and computer, and put a cupcake with a clear dish over it underneath the saran wrap in the middle.
