Do Your Big Boobs Make Men More Sexist?

Does a woman’s breast size have something to do with how sexist men are? Um, sort of. And it’s all your boobs’ fault, guys. It’s all their fault!

JK. It’s totally not your boobs’ fault that some men are sexist. But the breast size men prefer might determine how sexist they are, according to a new study. And I’m not really sure how I feel about it.

The study, from the University of Westminster, found that the majority of men who said they liked large or very large breasts also had sexist attitudes – therefore, they found a connection between sexism in men and breast size. Curious about what breast sizes were most and least popular?

According to this study, 32.7 percent of men rated medium-sized breasts as “most attractive.” 24.4 percent of men said they were most into large breasts, 19.1 percent were into very large breasts, 15.5 percent were into small boobs and 8.3 percent liked very small. So, if you’ve always thought that all dudes are into huge breasts, this study proves you wrong.

Onto the sexism! Most of the dudes who were into large and very large breasts also admitted to attitudes of benevolent sexism, female objectification, and hostile attitudes towards women. And the biggest correlation was when it came to benevolent sexism. This basically means that these guys idealize “traditional” femininity. They may “perceive women as meek and weak.”

Researchers said, “It is arguable that benevolently sexist men perceived larger female breasts as attractive because larger breast size on a woman is associated with perceived femininity.” Apparently, they associate big boobs with “traditional” femininity – you know, all of those stereotypes you’ve heard about girls your whole life.

So does this mean that guys who are into big boobs don’t see women with big boobs are their equal? Yeah, kind of. I’m bummed that this cliche is proving to be true, but at the same time, I know that this definitely doesn’t apply to all men. First of all, this study was only done on about 360 white males – that’s not nearly enough people to make a statement about an entire gender. Second of all, I don’t know, maybe some guys are just into big boobs because they like them?

While these findings are pretty interesting to think about and keep in mind, I’m not taking this super seriously until I see a lot more evidence. I don’t think it’s fair to say that all men are automatically sexist if they like large breasts just because some of them happen to be. Like I said… maybe some guys are just really into boobs.

What do you think about this study? Would you agree that guys who are into large breasts are more sexist? Or do you think that’s ridiculous? Tell me in the comments.

I think all women are great! There’s things that are a real turn on with some women when compared to others, but of course it’s all subjective. One person’s meat is another one’s poison. I do much prefer women with huge tits though.

  • Lu

I’m gonna have to agree that men who prefer bigger breasts do tend to be on the shallow and immature side. A real, mature man would be more interested in a girl’s personality than their breasts.

  • Andrew

I’m not gonna lie, I prefer big breasts on women. The bigger the sexier in my opinion. That being said, I do view myself as being sexist, not even “benevolently sexist”. It makes me sad that people view girls as objects, they are people who have just as much potential as any man and should not be subjected to any stereotypical role in society. The preference to larger boobs is just a factor in how attractive I think a women is. In no way do I think that the bigger a woman’s boobs are the more feminine they are. I respect all woman and I don’t like how this study is making men who like big boobs look like sexist pigs.

Sorry to burst anyone’s bubble but you can’t imply causation in a correlational study. So you cannot say that men who prefer women with larger breasts are sexist. There’s a lot of other factors that would need to be tested and controlled to make that claim. Be wary of claims like this, and think critically. Peace!

    LOL right, Anna!

I will definitley need more proof on that one. Maybe some guys just like big boobs like you said. Doesn’t have to mean sexism. Interesting, though!

I think you need to go back to school and learn proper spelling and grammar.

  • Nick

I’d have to agree with the fact that some men just like them, I absolutely love girls with big boobs, but I think they can do absolutely anything a man can do, or more or less, they’re just like us… What I’m saying is I’m not sexist, but I love girls with big tits.

Ridiculous. In order to make a proper study in an area like this you need much much more people to participate than just <400. Moreover, when you present your results you need to include country, age, culture, background etc. etc. An interesting read but this study says nothing.

  • Sarah

You spelled “weak” wrong in the 5th paragraph.

  • Waldo

in the sentence “Meek and week” i think you meant to say “Weak”

  • Sam

…so? The study shows that many guys who prefer very large breasts admit to sexist attitudes. It doesn’t show there is any link between the two facts. Correlation does not mean causation, it isn’t because they like big breasts that they have a sexist attitude, nor do they have a sexist attitude because they like big breasts ( or like “traditional femininity”). It just so happens that one was spotted where the other was. In other words, I think we all get the idea that sexism is ridiculous and MAY stem from physical traits, but come on… if you have no facts, don’t write an article. Otherwise you just seem like you’re anti-men or hate big breasts…

I have big boobs! And almost every guy I meet stares down at them! I kind of like the fact that I do have big boobs! But indeed some guys like small ones,… and i’m not sure how ifeel about this artical!

  • Hannie

The link to the study from Uni. of Westminster needed to be fixed

  • Anna

I don’t think it’s any more sexist than women who prefer men with big d*cks.

    • Tracy

To be fair, the larger penis sometimes serves a nicer purpose in the bedroom than large breasts…xD I’d love to see a little bit more on a study like this, maybe on the ages of the men? I have a feeling that middle-aged men (30’s and 40’s) probably like larger breasts more as a majority; I’ve noticed the younger generations going back to the more petite sizes and the smaller breasts as a preference. I don’t know how sexist it is though, I think it may just be based on whatever our culture’s ideals of beauty were at the time that they were brought up!

    • Daniel

      Well said.

    • Julia

Depends. For example, if the men liked big boobs just ’cause they did and this study found that there was no link between men who liked big boobs and those with sexist ideals (women should be meek/weak etc.) then it wouldn’t be sexist.
Just the same, if a study found that women who liked big dicks also thought that men should be weak/below them it would be sexist towards men.

As there is no study that says women that like big dicks also think men should be below them, there is no proof that those are the same circumstances.
