GIF My Life: Group Projects Are The Worst

When it comes to school, I rank group projects pretty high on my list of “worsts.” Okay, sometimes you luck out and get to work with a friend and it all goes smoothly. But more often than not there’s a whole lot of tension, uneven workloads and a constant need to want to scream at somebody.

GIF Girl is always super focused in school (okay, most of the time at least), and when she’s confronted with news of a group project… let’s just say it’s not the highlight of her week. But lucky for us, GIFs can make it funnier! Let’s take a look on how this assignment plays out:

My assigned group is finally meeting outside of class the night before our project is due. I ask who has ideas for how to do this last section.

Okay, nobody. I ask one member to pull out the outline that we worked on yesterday in class.

I just have no words.

We get to work. By that I mean, I am trying to do work and everyone else is just gossiping.

I decide to vent my frustration on the pace this project is going.

Even though we’re not done yet, everyone decides they need to leave at 7 p.m. That just leaves me with the whole unfinished project.

Since we’ve accomplished nothing, I get to pull an all-nighter.

I finally finish sometime around 4 a.m. I can only imagine what my teacher is going to say when we turn this in.

I decide I am just going to just spill the whole truth about how I did all the work in the group evaluation.

But when the time comes I worried about being too mean. I’m just too tired to even care, so I just give them okay reviews.

A few weeks later, grades come back. I got an A! All that extra workload at least has paid off!

Wait… EVERYONE in my group got an A?! Ugh, totally should have written my honest evals.

I’m just begging that our next class assignment is individual projects. Please. Seriously.

How do group projects usually go for you? Do you find that you end up doing most of the work? Would you rather do group projects or work alone? Tell us in the comments.

I know right? Everybody in my class couldn’t care less about grades, and so they all pile the work on me! I try to make them do something, but they don’t do anything so I have to do everything! And I really, really care about good grades, average is just not good enough for me or my parents, and I can’t complain to the teacher because they say that I just have to cooperate AND I AM COOPERATING BUT THEY AREN’T! So I stay up every night trying to finish it to a high standard, and I try to tell the teacher that I did everything, but she just says ‘It’s a group project, so all of you should have done it together, no exceptions.’ Gosh, teachers don’t understand either!

But GIF Girl made me laugh and I know I am not alone :D

I seriously hate group projects. this honestly explains my life, cause I’m what you call a nerd. I can’t get anything but an A+ or i get pretty upset. I’m also not the most outgoing person, and I hate telling people what to do. So if I get grouped with a bunch of uncooperative guy or gals, I have a really hard time doing what I’m supposed to do and be a leader all at the same time. So 9 out of 10 times I end up doing all the work myself, often staying up late to finish. The bad thing is, even if I get grouped with one of the two friends I have that aren’t hard workers at all, I usually still have to do all the work myself. I had this one project with my four best friends (including the two lazy ones) and my other friend and I ended up doing the vast majority of it while they goofed of and pretended to do some work. We also had a little spat about it because my best friend who actually works and I had to go to basketball finals and couldn’t do any for homework. They just did a couple hours of it afterschool and we had to finish it up the day it was due. I was really ticked about that.

But I love GIF girl, and this one seriously made me LOL :)
