Sexy Sex With Shallon: My Best Friend’s Boyfriend Hit on Me!

Not Taylor and not Andy but def a guy I wasn't pleased with!

Not Taylor and not Andy but def a guy I wasn’t pleased with!

Gurls, today we switch gears a little bit, shifting away from my own love life to the romance of my BFF…and how I hold her happiness in my hands.

Picture it: last week, I was at a birthday party for bestie, who we’ll call Taylor. Significant others were encouraged, but my boo was out of town so I went to the party solo – which I immediately realized was a mistake as soon as I walked in. Every single person was coupled up, so there wasn’t really anyone to talk to without feeling like a third wheel. And even when I did, the Smug Marrieds (yes, most of them were married–doubly horrifying) would just look at me pitifully when I insisted that I do have a boyfriend, and he is very much not fictitious! Taylor was busy working the room and taking pics, so I just retreated to the bedroom to fish some lip gloss out of my purse when T’s boyfriend, Andy, sauntered in.

And closed the door behind him.

“Yo brother, what’s up,” I said casually, fiddling with my Dior Addict gloss and trying not to notice how odd it was that he’d shut us both in the room–alone. Andy had always looked at me a little funny, the way a hawk might look at a mouse scuttling by. He’s a good looking guy who’s used to having girls fawn all over him, and the fact that I didn’t (um HELLO he’s dating my BFF, did he really expect me to flirt??) seemed to pique his curiosity.

“You tell me,” he said in a smokey Texas drawl, as he moved closer and closer to me. I kept backing up nervously trying to put some distance between us, and soon my back was up against the wall.

“Oh ha ha, Andy you’re such a kidder!” I don’t even know what that was supposed to mean, I was just trying to diffuse the sexual tension. Where was this coming from? He and T had recently moved in together and maybe he was feeling trapped and carnivorous? In another world, if Taylor or my boyfriend didn’t exist, maybe Andy and I would’ve gotten together. But they do exist. And I prefer both of them over Andy. Like, times a million. But Andy didn’t seem to feel that way.

“You know, Shallie, you and I have always had this…,” he paused, and twirled a lock of my hair between his fingers, “this thing between us, haven’t we?”Dude, seriously??

“That thing, Andrew, is our mutual love for Taylor.”

I pushed passed him and back out into the party, flushed, confused and just all dark and twisty inside.

Since the party, Andy acts like nothing has happened, and obviously Taylor knows nothing about it. I confided in my other BFF, who doesn’t know either of them, and she says I have a duty to tell Taylor what happened. But I don’t know. She’s so happy. Who am I to mess with that? Maybe it was a one time thing. Maybe he was just being weird.

What I do know for sure is that if I tell her and 1) she doesn’t believe me or 2) she confronts Andy but decides to stay with him, I lose her as a friend. It’s not fair, but it is what will happen. But is that just selfishness on my part? Is it better to give her up and prevent her from getting into a romance–and possibly a marriage!–with a bad guy? UGH HELP!
