The New Cinderella: Which Celeb Should Play The Disney Princess?

Cinderella Movie

Who would make the best Cinderella?

Amazing news: there’s going to be a real-life film adaptation of one of my favorite Disney movies, Cinderella! I’m so excited that I’m already counting down to the release date even though I don’t know when it is. There’s just something about cartoons coming to life that I can’t get enough of.

Now the big question is this: who should play Cinderella? Although you may have your own ideas, it seems like Hollywood already has an answer for us – Emma Watson. The star is supposedly in “very early talks” to star in the fairy-tale, but nothing is definite yet.

I love, love, love Emma Watson as much as the next Harry Potter fan, but I’m feeling a little bit conflicted over this possible casting choice. Do we think Emma Watson would make a good Cinderella? This definitely seems like something she is seriously interested in because she apparently was supposed to star in Marilyn Manson’s musical version of Cinderella. I think we should all breathe a collected sigh of relief that that never happened because, um, what?

Anyway, back to the real question – can Emma be a successful Cinderella? Personally, I think Emma is an incredible actress and could nail any role she’s in. But still… am I the only one who doesn’t see her as Cinderella? If I were to pick Emma to be any Disney princess, it would probably be Belle and not only because they both have dark hair. I don’t know, I just see her more as Belle. While I definitely won’t be bummed if she’s picked to play Cinderella, I still feel like there are a few other actresses who could maybe be a better fit for the famous glass slippers. What do you think? Hey, let’s put it to a vote!

Here are my ideas. Vote on who you think would make the best real-life Cinderella ever:

I personally think that Dianna Agron would make a better Cinderella. I don’t know why but I just can’t see Emma playing her.

Well, seeing as I’m a HUGE ‘Once Upon A Time’ fan, I’m kind of biased towards Jessy Schram, but then again the show has also made me super biased towards any real-life adaptations of classic fairy tales. I love Ginny Goodwin as Snow White so much, and what they’ve done with the story, that I can’t make myself see ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ or ‘Mirror, Mirror.’ (heck, I can’t even go back and watch the original cartoon anymore). I will be curious to see who they cast, and what direction they go in with the story, but I’m actually more looking forward to the live action Maleficent that will be out.

    Kristen Wiig.

Umm, maybe a new face for once? Someone young, fresh and talented? I love Emma, but I definitely don’t see her as our sweet and sensitive Cinderella. We’ll see!

If Emma Watson no longer counts as young and fresh, I’m officially thirty billion years old.

Well I meant I’d like to see them find someone under 20, someone we’ve never seen before. I think Emma Watson is fresh and edgy. Far from old!

EMMA WATSON. OMG. EMMA WATSON. PLEASE LET EMMA WATSON GET THE PART!!!

Emma Watson would definitely be a great Cinderella, but if there is going to be singing involved, they should definitely use Taylor Swift (she did a good acting when she guest starred on CSI).

I would like to point out that there is already a non-animated Cinderella movie and it’s pretty amazing, you should check it out. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0128996/?ref_=fn_al_tt_3
