Beautiful quotes, all of them so very true. But Black History Month has always seemed kind of racist to me. What makes black people different than white people? Nothing, just DNA. So why make us different? Why can’t we just be Americans, or even just people? To put it in perspective, White History Month sounds pretty racist. Why? Because it is. Black History Month is no different. I’m not trying to discredit these people or the things they say. Rosa Parks stood up for her rights, and I will always respect her for that. But now we live in a country where the color of your skin doesn’t matter, unless you’re white and trying to apply for scholarships.

we celebrate black history because we had to fight for everything to be fair unlike “white” people who were always accepted. its to celebrate the people who did something. The same reason theres women’s history month becuause we were not given the same rights as men. and we are all American thats why we’re called African-AMERICAN. the african is to honor where we came from its like honoring you great grandparents its a tribute.

Black History month was started in a time when race did matter. White History month was pretty much every month It reminds us of the struggles we’ve had and how we’ve overcame them. I know now it seems kind of racist now but think about how things were back then
