You hear that? If woman. Because it’s just one woman that wants equal rights. Oh, excuse me, I mean special treatment.
Some of the “rights” that were listed as suggestions include:
“I need Masculism because I should not automatically have to pay for a dinner because of my gender”
“I need Masculism because I should be treated equally to a woman who slaps a man, when I hit a woman”
“I need Masculism because you should not be allowed to use sex to get your way, unless I am too”
What’s the point behind this movement? An anonymous user said,
“It is time we put a stop to discrimination against men, and the feminist’s relentless fight for what has gotten to be for free handouts, or extras. Women today do have rights, which was the point of feminism that has been achieved, and at this point it is getting out of hand because it is going beyond that.”
I’m pretty sure the point of feminism is not to get “free handouts, or extras.” I’m also pretty sure that while yes, women today do have rights, we still are not totally equal to our male counterparts. Feminism never set out with the intent to say, “Ladies, we achieved some sense of equality! Time to go home and bake a cake!”
The definition of feminism is “the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes,” while a masculinist is defined as “an advocate of male superiority or dominance.” So really this “Masculism Movement” by definition is the movement to assert male superiority and dominance, not equality.
Well, feminists took notice of this masculism hashtag and gave a hilarious response:

This prank totally backfired, and feminism prevailed. A lot of the tweets in response were made by men, which proves that 4chan’s “brilliant” idea was in fact, stupid.

Look, I’m a staunch defender of equality (a feminist), but if you’re taking 4chan seriously, you grossly misunderstand what the internet is all about. By responding to their ‘masculism’ you’re giving them exactly what they want. I’ve done my fair share trolling people on the internet. Don’t worry about what anonymous thinks because anonymous is not held accountable for anything and therefor can say absolutely whatever they want.

the points that were made were pretty valid. men do get raped and its not taken as seriously as when woman do. and the feeling that men should have to pay is terrible. the point of feminisum is for everyone to be equal. not for us to get out all the things we dont like but the men still have to take care of the family and stuff as simple as pay for dinner. i think that trying to pull a stunt like this was a little extreame but if things are changing for us then they sould change for them too.

That’s feminism, dingus. Equal responsibility for money, equal accountability for assault, equal rejection of using sex to get what you want — all feminism.
Unfortunately, there are women who call themselves feminists who are screwing it up for all of us, male and female. Feminism is not man-hating, and if you think women are better than men, get out of the movement.
So of those posts (from feminists) are actually truly ignorant of the troubles that men do face i.e. the one about men being raped.Some of those post( by men) are really valid i.e having to fell like they have to pay. Also I’m really opposed to the fact that dictionary definition of the term feminism was used in this article because anyone who has studied feminism knows that the dictionary definition is far to broad to actually signify any sort of affiliation between people who believe that because that’s most people. feminism really comes down to the idea that there is a battle of the sexes that women need to fight in to make sure that they are treated fairly and it pits men against women so that the idea of masculism does exactly what the large bulk of feminism does. not to mention that there are several types of feminists who believe different ideologies.

I don’t think feminism is woman asking for special privileges, and I don’t think masculinity should be either; however, it isn’t completely ridiculous! Doing it to ‘get back’ at feminists is stupid, of course, but truth is, there is sexism against both men and woman in society today. It isn’t just us, no matter how much we think it is. It ISN’T.
Men do get raped. It’s not .01% as much; it’s waaaay more common than that ignorant girl thinks. Men just don’t report it as much. Why? Because they’re ashamed by it, because of this dumb stereotype that men don’t get raped, that they’re always willing. Woman really do get more sympathy; I read some guy venting online that his ex-wife got their child’s custody because apparently him yelling at her was abuse while her physically hurting him, hitting, punching, slapping, kicking him, wasn’t.
Woman like to think that we’re treated as if we’re less, but truth is, we’re not. Sure, some guys act like that, but they’re not the majority, they’re just loud! Men have so much stereotyping and pressure against them, just like us. Actually, think of it this way; if a little girl starts dressing like a boy, maybe there’ll be some disapproving looks, but generally she’ll be supported. It’s a woman’s right to not have to wear girly clothes and dresses and skirts, right? Of course it is. But as soon as a little boy starts dressing like a girl everyone’s worried.
Oh, and here’s a fact: men generally work longer hours and more days than woman do, therefore completing more work time. Therefore getting paid more and being better candidates for promotions. So that whole ‘men make more than woman’ thing? True. They WORK more. Of course they get paid more!
I’m not bashing feminism, I’m bashing ignorant girls who haven’t looked at this from both sides of the equations. If anything, I’d say guys have it a little worse off.
Maybe it’s time for both sexes to just get over all this and stop the stereotyping and bashing of each other, but of course it’s not going to happen. Oh well.

While the idea is stupid, men do face some minor sexism due to gender roles still being in place. But that will fade as time goes on, and so will the sexism men face, and so they REALLY don’t need a movement.

Men who to complain about the inequities in their society are trotted out as proof of the sniveling, inferior nature of males
The hate-speech laws that exist do not proscribe hate mongering directed at men
To say men are not discriminated against as much women, is a lie
The hypocrisy of you and these people is astounding to the point of being delusional

See, the issue with this feminism vs masculism arguement is that what started as a movement for equality is just becoming a place for hate. Your statement “Feminism is wrong, equality is right” is an example of this. This statement could basically translate to “women wanting equality is bad because I already think they have enough/ too many rights”. Making someone give up their rights is not equivalent to getting your own. An “-ism movement” should be striving for rights, not attempting to deprive others of them (something both sides need to get there shit together onI do believe there is an issue with masculine inequality for certain subjects (ex. “mom states”, lack of reprecussion for intercouse with a female teacher) but this whole argument is getting fucking insane.
P.S: Just for your own future reference some of the reasons you’ve listed here are biological/inherent and not about inequality:
“Men are more prone to alcoholism, drug abuse, psychological problems” – biological, also define “psychological problems” because woman are more prone to certain mental illnesses than men, such as major and unipolar depression (over 2 times more), anxiety, and schizo-affective disorders. Also, the population of people with mental illnesses is specifically predominated by women.
“Male Life expectancy is 7 years less the that of females” – Biological. Its just a fact. It has nothing to do with inequality

Killing someone in self defense for emotional abuse is a bit hypocritical, seeing as for a self defense killing to be deemed lawful, your life must be in inherent danger.
“Men account for about 85% of the homeless adults” – This typically has to do with substance abuse. Men are more prone to substance abuse because they have a biological tendency to externalize, as apposed to women who internalize.
