I know firsthand how much acne stinks. I’ve been getting pimples and zits all over my face for as long as I can remember, and I’ve tried pretty much everything to get rid of it without resorting to more serious meds like Accutane. Luckily for you guys, this has helped me come up with a list of products I seriously don’t know what I would do without. I still break out, but the situation is definitely not as bad as it used to be, and these products help me out so much.
If you break out just as much as I used to, then you’ll definitely want to check these out. The best news about all of these products? They’re cheap and accessible – they should be easily found at your local drugstore. Or Target, where you can also buy 800 other things you don’t need (I can’t be the only one who does that). Check out 10 of my favorite acne-fighting products right here:
Neutrogena Body Clear® Body Wash in Pink Grapefruit
Okay girls, seriously, this is the only body wash I've used in years. I'm obsessed with it. One time when I ran out, my drugstore didn't have it and I searched all over town until I found it. It's that good. The grapefruit scent is yummy and refreshing without being overpowering, and this works great against bacne and chest acne.
Clean & Clear Essentials Dual Action Moisturizer
This is a bold statement, but... I don't know where I would be without this lotion. Most moisturizers are too oily for my skin and actually end up making my acne look worse. But this one helps fight my acne while also making my face feel super soft. It's a win-win!
Almay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover Pads
Okay, these pads might not directly help your acne, but they do help the fight. Why? Sleeping with makeup on is basically like asking for pimples, and these little guys stop that from happening. These are my absolute favorite makeup remover pads. They take off everything, even your stubborn mascara, and they're really easy to carry around. I like the oil-free version the best.
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash
A lot of face washes leave my skin feeling dried out and kind of gross, but not this one. As commercial-y as this sounds, it really does leave my skin feeling fresh. And I kind of love that it doesn't really have a scent.
Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets
I may be the only person who says things like "I'm obsessed with oil absorbing sheets", but whatever. I am! I carry these around every single place I go. They may not directly help with acne, but they definitely help with oily skin. These help ensure that I'm (almost) never shiny!
Clearasil Ultra® Rapid Action Pads
So, these are seriously amazing if you're looking for a quick fast, but you know, you're not in the mood to full on wash your face. These little pads work great and are super easy to take with you everywhere you go.
Clean and CLear® Adavantage® Acne Spot Treatment
This stuff is perfect if you already have a pimple popping up and you want to get rid of it fast. I used to use toothpaste as a spot treatment, but this spot treatment is absolutely worth the extra money. Just dab a little on over your pimple, and you'll see it reduce much faster than it would have without it.
Neutrogena SkinClearing Liquid Makeup
Sometimes no matter how hard you try, acne beats you and you still get a pimple anyway. No worries - just cover it up with Neutrogena's SkinClearing makeup. Okay, so this isn't concealer, but I use it like it is and it works. This stuff covers up your pimples without making them even worse.
Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips
When I was in high school, my best friend and I used to buy these just to put them on our nose, act stupid and make fun of each other. Then I actually started to like them. They're just so cool! I don't even care what I look like while wearing them.
Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser
As much as I love those Almay makeup remover pads I mentioned above, I could still never give away this Neutrogena makeup remover face wash. I don't want to sound weird, but it's basically my life. This stuff removes every trace of makeup (EVERYTHING) and also makes my face super soft. What more could you want?

Breakup Stages
Treatments can take up to three months to work, so don’t expect overnight results. If your acne is more widespread, for example if you have a large number of papules and pustules, or if over-the-counter medication hasn’t worked, see your GP as you probably need prescription medication.
I’ve tried everything and most acne products just irritate the skin and make the problem worse.
I actually was thinking to try Neutrogena I heard that its pretty good but about Clean & Clear I’m not gonna try my luck on it because i had a gel peeling the green one and it damaged my really bad I personally have oily skin and this peeling should have helped me but it dried the left side under my eye so bad and i tried every thing to moisturizes the area but nothing helped I had to go to the dermatology since then I’m afraid to use their products
I absolutely love this article. I think I might actually use some of these products. I also have the biore facial strips and I reckon the work great. Even my boyfriend uses them haha.
The Clean and Clear® Adavantage® Acne Spot Treatment stuff is really good! I’ve bought it like, 3 times over.
If a nasty pimple pops up one day and I dab a little on it, overnight its practically unnoticeable and easy to hide.
Also, all the face washes that come with little sponge-type pads to apply it with work well for me.
I only use Clean & Clear and Neutrogena.
