You Hate It
I know. You asked for skinny jeans and you got boot cut, because your mom thinks they’re more “flatting,” whatever that’s supposed to mean. Or you’re allergic to peanuts and your sister gave you a tub of her favorite peanut butter cups. I know it’s tempting to get mad and have it out with them right then and there, but don’t. That’ll only make your day way worse. Try just smiling and saying, “Gosh, thanks! I never thought I’d be getting __________ !” Then drop it. If you really need revenge, get them something lousy next year.

That’s dumb, you should be able to say “I’m allergic to peanuts” when you get something with peanuts in it, its a pretty important fact. There is nothing “rude” about that. You should also be able to show appreciation for a gift you get, when you get it, no matter who is around. I wouldn’t care if someone liked someone else’s gift more than mine, that’d be dumb. If that does happen, you have some sort of jealousy issues.
