I don’t know if you’ve ever gotten a bikini wax before, but when you go in for one, you’re pretty vulnerable. I mean, your whole lady area is just kind of out there, and someone’s leaning in super close to examine it and yank hair out. It’s uncomfortable both physically and socially, so most people who give bikini waxes are really nice and try to put you at ease as much as they can. Well, most people except for the woman at this new place I went to!
First off, she never asked me my name or even said hello. When she yelled at me to get undressed faster (because I was wasting her time) I should have known this was a mistake and walked out of there, but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. BAD DECISION! First, she insulted me and said my hair was “too long and gross.” What the hell?! Yes, it had been almost two months since my last wax, but she called me gross! That’s not okay! And then she used wax that was too hot for a bikini wax. I mentioned that, and she insisted that it was fine, and kept using it on my bikini line. I was blistered and peeling skin down there for weeks to come, ladies, and let me tell you–that’s not sexy.
Lesson learned? When it comes to a bikini wax or anything else that’s super delicate, stick with what you know or at least go to someone who’s been recommended. Trying out the cheapie bikini wax was a mistake I’ll never, ever repeat!
