If you could have seen me back in July, I would have been whining 24/7 about how it was way. too. hot. out. Cut to the end of November now that the winter cold has rolled around, and I’ve totally changed my tune to a steady “BRRRRRRRRRRR!” As much as I love a festive holiday sweater, continuing to pile on layer after layer after layer every winter can be tiring work, especially when all a lazy girl wants to do is snap her fingers and suddenly be warm again (I didn’t know how good I had it back in the summer!).
Sadly, there’s not a magic way to spin the clock forward a few months to leave the chilly weather behind, but we do have a few tips for every lazy girl like me who is looking to stay warm in the winter with little to no real effort. After all, the only thing better than a lazy summer is a lazy winter!
Let Your Bed Be Your Desk
The weather seems to be absolutely coldest that moment when you have to leave your bed in the morning for school. Have your BFF bring a laptop from class to class and you can just video chat in. If you must go out, find a way to incorporate your favorite warm blanket into your look. Belt it! Add sparkles! Get one in every color! While others outside may be saying "BRRR!", you can congratulate your warmth AND style with a “BRRRavo!” Hey, fleece could be all the rage on the runways next year. Tell your sister you’ll chip in with her neighborhood dog-sitting duties. She can do the walking and feeding, and you can do all the other important stuff like cuddling with the fluffy cuties on the couch to keep your toes warm. That seems like a pretty even split of the workload (we'll take our half of the paycheck now). Source: Shutterstock.comGet Wayyyy Out Of Town
Convince your parents to purchase a house somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere for you to live half the year. Insist it will be a nice change of pace... plus you can time your stays to skip winter altogether! Source: Shutterstock.comTake A Hibernation Vacation
If you're catching as many ZZZs as possible, you won't be spending enough time in the real world to notice the chill. Jet off to dreamland often where you can spend hours in a warm island paradise - and you don't even need to pay OR pack. Source: Shutterstock.comWatch Warm Weather Entertainment
During those frosty snow days, marathon a bunch of television shows and movies that only take place in warm-weather settings. If there's even a chance that a character will be wearing a heavy winter jacket, save it on the DVR until spring. For now, if your favorite characters are enjoying the sunshine and rocking T-shirts, you’re bound to forget your shivering and warm up in no time. Source: Shutterstock.comSpice Up Your Meals
Just because food comes fresh out of the oven doesn't mean it's hot enough to warm you up. Drench all your meals in hot sauce (yup, even breakfast) to warm up pronto. Source: Shutterstock.comLook To Friends For Help
One coat is rarely enough in the cold of winter, so don't think twice about borrowing your friend's coat if need be. You know the one we're talking about - the brand new designer one she saved up all year to buy? Yeah, she won't mind if you break it in. Source: Shutterstock.comHot Water Isn't Just For Drinks
Hot drinks are great in winter, but take it a step further and tell your parents to invest in a jacuzzi so that you can spend your winter nestled in the hot, bubbly waters. A few pruny fingers is a small price to pay for a season of total warmth and comfort. Source: Shutterstock.comKnow any other lazy ways to stay warm this winter? Let us know in the comments!
