You know that here at the Gurl offices, we’re maybe just a little obsessed with Emma Watson. We loved her as Hermione, she was amazing in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, but this week, she’s maybe played her greatest role yet.

Emma Watson was in New York City to film the upcoming movie Noah–about that biblical flood we’ve all heard about–when a very real flood hit the city in the form of Hurricane Sandy. Instead of taking cover or high-tailing it out of The Big Apple, Emma realized this is a time when people need to join together and help each other out, so she’s been volunteering with Citymeals-On-Wheels to deliver meals to elderly people who are stuck in their homes because of the storm.

I know a lot of people in New York and across the country are doing everything they can to help Hurricane Sandy victims get back on their feet, and I’m not saying that Emma Watson is better than any of us other volunteers, but I do love knowing that the celebrities we look up to on the big screen also have big hearts in real life.
