I love when I get to read about celebrities doing something really great. And no, I’m not talking about when they announce an amazing new movie they’re working on or when they start dating someone really cute. I’m talking about when they show their super generous side and do something really sweet that actually gives back. Celebs can get so much negative press for their opinions, wardrobe choices and dating life that sometimes we forget that some of them are actually pretty awesome.

This week, two of my favorite famous ladies did things that are totally Gurl crush worthy – Anne Hathaway and Katy Perry both proved that they’re totally worthy of their superstardom. In fact, I can’t even decide which deed was the sweetest. Which is obviously why we’re going to have a vote-off. Here’s what went down:

Earlier this month, we told you guys about how Anne Hathaway got married to the seriously adorable Adam Shulman. Anne sold some of their wedding shots to a few media outlets so that we could all ogle her gorgeous dress (and husband).

But instead of holding onto the money she got from the pics, which I’m sure is more than I’ll see basically ever, Anne is giving it away to a few different charities. I don’t know all of the details, but one of the groups she’s donating money to is Freedom To Marry, which strives to help gay couples have the right to get married in the United States. Pretty awesome, right? It’s always great to see celebs get generous with the ridiculous amount of money they get paid for things like wedding photos. Plus, I’m always a fan of a star who supports gay rights.

Katy Perry’s awesome deed? She attended Comedy Central’s Night Of Too Many Stars benefit (which raises money and awareness for autism programs), where she performed the cutest duet ever with Jodi DiPiazza, a little girl who has autism. Music helps Jodi get through living with autism.

Jodi took the stage to play the piano and sing to Katy’s “Firework”, and in the middle of it, Katy joined her. If this performance doesn’t bring tears to your eyes, then honestly, you’re a robot:

Afterwards, Katy tweeted, “I will never forget last night. It was the most important moment thus far of what I do.”

Now for the big question:

Honestly, it doesn’t even matter who wins this poll – they’re both winners here at Gurl. Corny? Yes. Still true? Definitely.
