If You’re Sexually Active
If you’re being sexual, definitely let him know what’s going on! This is one surprise that would NOT necessarily go over well. But if you’re both comfortable having sex during your period then it’s fine. That said, it’s important to practice safe sex. Know that you can STILL get pregnant. Also, like semen, your menstrual blood is a bodily fluid so you can still pass on and be infected with sexually transmitted diseases. Use condoms, as always!

Take a breath and speak. There’s no secret, time-honored speech, and it does NOT have to be a huge deal. Just say, “Hey babe, I got my period today and it will last until Friday.” Is this an intimate thing to say? Sure, but if you can’t go there with someone (emotional intimacy) then you definitely should NOT be going THERE with them (physical intimacy), right chica?
Oh, and special note? Speak it plainly! Dudes do not speak girl. Euphemisms might confuse him. If you say “my friend” or “the visitor” is here, he may be looking around for an imaginary alien invasion.
What He Needs To Know
Before we consider what he needs to know, let’s talk about what YOU need to know. Keep a calendar record of when you get your period, cyclical conditions, changes and how many days it lasts. I get killer premenstrual moodiness and like to be able to distinguish whether my personal dramas are “hormonally magnified.” Reducing sugar helps with that, by the way…

A good guy won’t care. He may even volunteer to pick up your tampons or pads. There’s nothing gross or embarrassing about something that your gorgeous body does every 28 days, got it? Good. And unless you’re dating someone super immature, he’ll get it, too.

How can i tell if my girlfriend is on her period without asking her or her telling me.are there any tell tale signs?
Lol
Me and my bf call it red and he knows mainly he can tell coz I get really moody !!!!
My period normally starts on a Sunday and ends during the week sometime(about 4-5 days) . We don’t go to the same school and he knows when im on it cause i don’t mind him knowing about it. Every girl goes though it eventually and he is old enough to know whats going on. (He’s 18) I mean my boyfriend and i have been together for 2 months and a couple weeks and i started the day after he and i started going out. He knew i was having cramps the day before because i would hold my side randomly and he asked i looked at him and was like “*sigh*…yes” about an hour or two later he asked me out. He and i have even had conversations about what happens when im on and what happened in the past. ( about a year or so ago i would pass out when i was on mine.. I was never hungry and i don’t drink milk bc it upsets my tummy, so now i take calcium pills and eat when im on it even if i feel sick to my stomach) He asks questions and i try to explain them as much as i can.
My boyfriend calls it my ‘monthly day’ I think it’s cute and so original
my BF just knows. mostly because my BC is the patch and when i take off the last one (i always tell him when i switch) he knows its coming.
plus he’s fine with it cuz he lives with only girls. he understands what he needs to
eeeewwww
My boyfriend is so sweet when i have my period, he will bring me over chocolate and we spend the day watching movies together, he helps make me feel so much better. he will buy me tampons and when my boobs are sore he will massage them to make me feel better, i couldnt ask for anything more when i have my period.i love him to bits xxx love you jovan
My boyfriend and I actually have a code for it :p
We call it “shark week” because one day he found a picture on Facebook that was illustrating a shark brain and how if looked really similar to female genitalia, and ever since then it just kind of stuck.
So now all I have to say is “Babe, it’s shark week.” and he understands :3
my guy has actually asked me what kind of tampons and pads i do use in case he ever needs to go pick some up for me one day
I honestly don’t think guys will fully understand what girls have to endure during their period both emotionally and physically. Trust me, no matter how knowledgeable and comforting they may be during this delicate time they have no clue. Two things peeve me about the guys I’ve had relations with and their so called “knowledge” on periods.
#1) Because they believe they’re experts on periods they love to ask when we have it, especially when where angry at them. I hate when a guy goes “you’re in a mood because you have your period” or “do you have your period? Because you’re really testy today!” that annoys the shit out of me. It’s rude and uncalled for and just because I’m mad does not automatically mean I’m menstruating.
#2) when guys try to relate,
I hate this to death. The typical “I know what you’re going threw”. No you don’t. Ponint blank. Unless you have a vagina you do not know how women feel during periods.
Overall be careful when giving information on how us ladies function because men seem to get the wrong impression no matter how many times we explain it to them.
You must be on your period…irritable much?
Lol nice
, @galaxy . I do understand what you mean though, @star. They can never understand it because their penis does and will never bleed once a month. (If it does, they have bigger issues x)
