As if we needed another reason to adore Adele. She not only is the biggest selling singer of 2011 and 2012, she’s engaged, she’s recording the new James Bond theme song, and she’s a mom to be–but now “Rumor Has It” (we’ll be here all week!) that the songstress requested that British fashion house Burberry begin designing plus size styles–and she may do the designing herself!

While it’s yet to be confirmed, it’s pretty much a dream come true for Adele, because she loooooves Burberry (and it’s so cute that they’re both British!). She’s teaming up with Christopher Bailey, the creative director of the line (and someone she’s admired for a while). “I’ve met Christopher Bailey a few times,” said a while back. “I’ve always loved Burberry. I remember saving for three years to get my first bag before I got signed.” C’mon, you can relate!

We freakin’ love this idea for so many reasons. For one, it’s Adele, and she can pretty much do no wrong in our eyes. We’re excited to see what kind of designs she has in mind, because she always looks so classy and put-together in an awesome 1960s mod kind of way, from her outfits (many of which have been Burberry numbers) to her fluffy bouffants and teased wigs to her cat eyeliner.

We’re also just stoked in general that a designer label is going to have a plus sized line, because, well, it’s about time, isn’t it? It’s awesome for girls who may not be a 00 to be able to snag runway-ready outfits–not just for their own wardrobes, but also for the designers themselves. By opening a new market for their clothes, they’re pretty much bound to make more money. Which begs the question: Why did no one think of this before?!

Would you buy plus-sized Burberry items? Do you think Adele would make a good designer? Which celeb’s style would you want to see in a plus-sized version? Tell us in the comments!

We’re so happy Adele is finally over her stupid ex!

I would love to own a Burberry jacket or trench coat……I am a plus size, stylish woman of 62 who still has a career and now the $$$ to buy this for myself now that my children are raised…..come on Burberry…get with the times!

There is a HUGE market for plus size designer fashions from thousands of woman like me wanting to purchase higher end items. We want to be stylish too. Larger woman CAN look good in designer clothing and want to invest in wardrobe staples especially classic pieces like the Burberry trench coat or quilted jacket. A top notch designer can design nice cuts for larger woman. I hope Adele is persuasive in getting Burberry to get on board. Other fashion houses will see their success and get on board too…hopefully soon.

This sounds so amazing. I’m the biggest Burberry fan, seriously, I always watch their shows online and I’m aware of their new products, ad campaigns and models. And, obviously, I love Christopher Bailey. Actually, I think I’m kind of obssesed…whatever, jeje. It’s a great idea that will allow plus size girls to wear these fantastic clothes. And Adele…well, this is just perfect, it even sounds utopic… : )

Yes, yes, yes! Please encourage Burberry to make plus sizes. I absolutely love the quilted jacket but sadly for me, the available sizes just don’t cut it. They need to make 1x to 3x!!! I wish this wasn’t the case for me but at my age its tough. It would be wonderful to be able to purchase Burberry’s beautiful styles. Please consider…
