For weeks, we’ve been hearing all about the Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart drama – you know, that Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson with her Snow White and the Huntsmen director, Rupert Sanders. And although it seemed like the couple was officially dunzo, it looks like they might actually be giving their relationship a second chance. The Sun is reporting that R-Patz and K-Stew are supposedly back together.

A source said that the two have moved back in together and, “Rob sees it as Kristen made a really stupid mistake. After a lot of long tearful talks, they’ve worked it out. Rob can see how truly sorry Kristen is and has totally forgiven her. They really do love each other.”

I don’t know if these rumors are really legit or just, well, rumors. That’s probably because I don’t personally know Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart (although I kind of wish I did). But I do know that lots of people out there are surprised, confused and a little annoyed about this news. They can’t believe that Rob would go back to a girl who cheated on him, betrayed him and maybe even broke his heart a little.

Maybe Kristen’s public apology worked. Maybe her ability to admit that what she did was wrong instead of trying to make up excuses made Rob believe she really does regret her actions. Maybe Rob is just a forgiving person and is willing to give her a second chance. Or maybe they’ve just agreed to forget about this public scandal. Or, um, maybe none of this is true at all.

Who knows? All I know is that this is their relationship, meaning it’s their business. I know that they’re celebrities and that they basically signed up for this: the gossip, people discussing their relationship as if it’s their own, and the constant public scrutiny and criticism. But that still doesn’t change the fact that we actually have no idea what goes on behind closed doors, no matter how many tabloid pieces you might read.

Cheating stinks, and I do think it’s a wrong decision to make. But it can also sometimes be a mistake that a person can genuinely regret for a long time. I know that to some people, it might seem really crazy of R-Patz to forgive Kristen for what she did – but sometimes people really do deserve second chances. I feel like if this news is true, Rob might get a bad rep for getting back with Kristen. But that’s not really fair, because if you’re not a part of someone’s relationship, you really don’t have any say in what they choose to do.
