Yesterday I woke up to the most tragic news possible—Ryan Reynolds is officially off the market. But, OK FINE, if he had go and wed at least it was to Blake Lively. I interviewed her a few years ago and she was one of the most gracious, classy chicks ever. She’s so poised and charming!

Classy: He Minds His Manners
Now, I'm a feminist. Don’t get me wrong. Of course I'm for equal pay for equal work and birth control but I'm still all for men opening doors and pulling out chairs. Does that make me old fashioned? Maybe. But I think a true gentleman knows that etiquette can be the way to a girl’s heart, and saves the burping/farting/cussing for his bros. Ryan manages to be funny, sexy and cool—without ever being vulgar.
Trashy: He Can’t Zip the Lip!
Think about it: when you don’t really respect a dude, you’re way more likely to blab about his secrets/your fights/his sexual performance to your besties. Ditto with guys. If he’s running his mouth about your romance, chances are he’s just one classless dude. Dump him.
Classy: He Protects You
Not just from muggers, spider and speeding cabs running red lights—which R.Gos. did for a random girl, because he’s perfect. But sometimes, your guy should protect you from yourself. My favorite boyfriend helped me kick bad habits and be my best self by encouraging me and making me realize how valuable I was. A classy guy wants you to be at the top of your game because he wants that for himself too. A great romance is all about making each other better!
Trashy: Gross Amounts of PDA
When you’re the one doing the lip-locking, you assume everyone sees it as adorable and romantic. THEY DO NOT. Anything beyond a kiss—please no tongue—is creepy and nasty and make you both look cheap. I mean, doesn’t this pic of Paris Hilton make you want to wash your hands? Blechh.
Classy: He Doesn’t Ask About Your Past
Guys always ask me how many boys I’ve slept with, and I am always offended. It’s not only none of their business, but there’s no right answer and it has no bearing on how I feel about them. Classy, confident boys—like Kim Zolciak’s hubs Kroy Biermann--respect that you did have a life before them, and that it made you the wild, wonderful woman they’re lucky enough to land!
Trashy: He’s Jealous of Your Ex
My old boyfriend was OBSESSED with my past romances. He even made me give away my favorite comfy sleep shirt because it was a leftover from a guy. If your dude spazzes out like Drake when he saw Rihanna’s ex Chris Brown at the club this summer, kick that trashbag to the curb where he belongs.
Classy: He Lets You Shine
Sure, Wills is a legit prince, but he never hesitates to let Kate bask in the limelight. A classy guy will delight in watching his girl take center stage—not fume with jealousy.
Trashy: He Dogs on Your Friends and Family
I knew one ex was an ass clown when he referred to one of my besties as a slut. Scott Disick never hesitates to feud with Khloe Kardashian or Mama Kris—how does Kourtney stand a guy who’s so disrespectful?! A guy worth his salt not only has his GF’s back, but her friends’ as well!
Classy: He Has Style
Having a bit of swagger doesn’t mean a guy is immune to being trashy at heart, but it at least indicates that he cares about his appearance—something all classy gents have in common! Plus, he’s more prone to appreciate all the efforts you take to look fab and foxy.
Trashy: He’s a Hothead
My mom always says that a guy who loses his temper does so because he’s too stupid to think of a constructive way to express his emotions. Yeah, you don’t mess with Mama Lester. But she has a point—if your dude is freaking out over every little “disrespect” how long until he turns that anger towards you?
