The Little Mermaid Gets Plastic Surgery? Say What, Ariel?

the little mermaid plastic surgery

Oh Ariel, neither witchcraft nor plastic surgery are the answer! Just say no! | Source

In The Little Mermaid, Ariel went through a lot to satiate her curiosity and get her man–she hung out with a witch, disobeyed her pops, went temporarily mute, and almost got her pal Sebastian killed. But we don’t recall her undergoing any plastic surgery, do you? A new ad for a plastic surgeon remembers The Little Mermaid pretty differently.

An ad for Clinica Dempere, a plastic surgery center in Venezuela, is rewriting one of our fave Disney cartoons ever in hopes of selling women and girls perfection. The picture shows Ariel swimming away from Ursula–who, somewhat similar to her new doll form, is slimmed down here–and to a plastic surgery office instead, where she emerges with legs, black pumps, and what looks like implants (her boobs are massive!), a brow lift and lip injections, because her mouth is wider than we’ve ever seen it.

Unlike normal fairy tale transformations, which are usually quick and painless and magical, plastic surgery involves recovery time, potential for complications, blood, knives, bruising–nothing too pretty, and in fact, a lot of pretty scary stuff that’s more likely to be in a Saw installment than a Disney flick. Plus, even in Disney cartoon terms, this dramatic change raises some questions: How did Ariel get to the office without legs? Wouldn’t the doctors have sold the rights to something so strange to TLC for a reality series? Would Prince Eric even recognize her anymore? What would Scuttle think?

We get that Clinica Dempere is probably gunning for cheeky and funny, but this just sends a bad message to really young girls that even the unrealistic beauty standards presented by Disney princesses–who more often than not are merely 16 years old–aren’t even good enough. Using cartoons is a way to lure in youngsters, and that’s shady. That and we just really think The Little Mermaid heroine looked better before. They aged her about 20 years!

If you’re into plastic surgery, dude–more power to you if it makes you feel more confident. It’s your body! But can we all agree that Ariel basically went from The Little Mermaid to Big Ang With a Red Wig? This is a travesty. That poor, unfortunate soul!

Do you think Ariel looked better before going under the knife? Do you think giving The Little Mermaid plastic surgery sends the wrong message to young girls? Have you ever considered plastic surgery? Tell us in the comments!

Quoting your own phrases in this article …’that Clinica Dempere is probably gunning for cheeky and funny, but this just sends a bad message to really young girls’…It also sends the WRONG, bad message to young girls the fact of Gurl, posting videos with naked guys, in order to get the young and sugestionabble-still-too-young girls (that in fact larks in this site and have accounts in here aswell).Same as the fact of Gurl ‘telling’ these same young and younger ‘gurls’ that is ‘fun, fine and ok’ for them to be having plenty sexual partners (EVEN at earlier ages) and bisexuality, and weird sexual so called ‘toys’ and a few more things i’ve been noticing from this site that everytime is looking more of a sexual oriented ‘light porno’ magazine, than a real really informative site that trully worries to teach girls!…And quoting you once more …’Using cartoons is a way to lure in youngsters, and that’s shady.’…So it is using naked guys for videos, very sexual ‘too sexy’ oriented pictures wich most of the times have nothing related to teens really, and another articles posted in this site to ‘encouraging’ girls and younger girls to many these behaviors and thinking!.And quoting you a final time… ‘That and we just really think The Little Mermaid heroine looked better before.’…I do think Gurl was and looked WAY BETTER before you started degenerating it into another ‘light headed’ pseudo soft-porno oriented site, undercover behind a mask of ‘teaching, sharing, and making friends’.Gurl should be more careful on the content they post and share over here, because i also rememebr articles recalling the infamous Craiglist site and encouraging prostitution!

Wait! First of all, girls under the age of 12 should really not be on this website. If you have children I suggest you take the responsibility yourself to block this from them, especially if it bothers you this much. I have learned A LOT from this website, and trust me, it’s all in good guidance.
**The guys aren’t actually naked. They have underwear on, and they would NEVER show anything suggestive.
You seem to be bashing on people who are open-minded with opinions. Some young people want multiple sex partners! Great, that’s up to them and their families. Gurl.com specializes in telling young girls that they are normal and free. I can actually see why you would see it as suggestive, but it really isn’t. My parents would never let me on this site if it weren’t reasonable!

Wait, get me right here, are you saying that bisexuality is wrong?
This site is just trying to tell girls that it is ok for them to be themselves; if they are interested by the “weird sexual so called ‘toys’” then this site is telling them that they don’t have to feel left out or alone.
Many people also believe in having multiple sexual partners, just like many believe in only having one; it is all personal and the only thing that this site is doing is telling those who believe things that it is alright for them to believe them.

There is also no way for this site to moniter who is on here; people don’t always tell the truth about their age. So, the fact that young girls may be on here is not the site’s fault.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BISEXUALILTY.

      I qoute you!

“Same as the fact of Gurl ‘telling’ these same young and younger ‘gurls’ that is ‘fun, fine and ok’ for them to be having plenty sexual partners (EVEN at earlier ages) and BISEXUALILTY,and weird sexual so called ‘toys’ and a few more things i’ve been noticing from this site that everytime is looking more of a sexual oriented ‘light porno’ magazine, than a real really informative site that trully worries to teach girls!…”

Take your narrow minded thoughts elsewhere.
