I’m not exactly sure when shaving “down there” became super popular, but all I know is that it is. A lot of girls feel pressured to get rid of their pubic hair, and lately, it seems like more guys expect girls to do so. But even though it might feel like this is something only girls do, that’s not true – plenty of guys are taking their razors down south also.
So the question is: do you want your boyfriend/hookup buddy to shave down there? Does it matter to you if he’s got hair in that area? I saw this discussion in the message boards and knew I had to get more opinions. Read what these girls think and then fill us in on what you think about dudes shaving down there.

My FWB trims it. He doesn’t go bald. I’m fine as long as there’s not a friggin’ forest down there. Men are hairy creatures, anyway.

It’s definitely become more socially acceptable for dudes to shave down there. But no matter how much you like it or don’t like it, you should never pressure a guy into doing it. If he wants to get rid of his pubic hair, let him. If he wants to keep it hairy, that’s his choice. The main thing to remember is that it’s his body, so he gets to decide what’s happening down there.
And you shouldn’t feel like you have to like it either. Just because shaving down there has become more popular doesn’t mean every single person has to be into it. In the end, there’s no reason to stress about body hair. We all have it, whether we like it or not!

Yes, guys should shave their PUBES! Its a cleanier area and nice to touch! Also, it makes his too; look bigger! He is VERY happy now that he shaves in the shower like most guys do! Less mess! lol
May people are saying they itch after shaving, use power or baby powder to help relieve that. Dont ever use fragrance with ALCOHOL, it will burn and really itch! For guys who are considering doing this, make sure you have a new shaver (pref a womens shaver) and gel shaving gel. Take slow strokes and rinse the razor often, this helps with the dragging and pulling. The first few times you shave you will itch, help calm the itch with baby power or other types of powder. Thanks
I have shaved my pubic hair off since it was done for me prior to an operation (15 years ago) and have since had my chest stomach and legs hair removed with IPL.

Yes I shave all my pubic hair off, I’ve been doing it for years and just because you have no hair doesn’t mean your any less of a man. I find it to be cleaner and less smelly when your sweating. I wear no underwater so its easier finding my package when I need to use the rest room (less hair pulling). I also shave my underarms to keep the smell of perspiration away (hair holds smell longer). I also shave my chest hair, I take care of myself and I’am comfortable with body grooming. Guys don’t be embarrassed its only hair.
So true no hair keeps the odor down. I like to shave my face, pubes, armpits and trim nose hair. It feel good to have nice appearence and feel good about yourself. From time to time I’ll trim my chest and toe hair.I agree dont be embarass it will grow back!
Yes, I shave – smooth. Every couple of days (at least once a week). I’ve been doing it for serveral years. I started while in the military because of a persistent heat rash from being assigned to the tropics – and haven’t looked back. I’m here to tell you that it IS MORE COMMON than one thinks. When I finish my workout and hit the gym showers, you can’t help but notice what appears 50% of the guys are shaved and another 20-30$ are trimmed. It’s getting to a point that the guy with the full bush is a thing of the past.
I’ve been shaving my pubes to some extent for about 10 years. For the last few years I’ve been getting waxed. Everything comes off down below, front and back. Going smooth seems to be the trend. I’ve noticed that, over the last year in particular, more guys in the locker room are now getting rid of their hair. Before, it was pretty uncommon to see a smooth guy but I’d agree that at least half of men have no pubic hair at all and about half of the rest are trimmed short. There’s definitely an age difference too with just about all guys under 30 going for the smooth look. I don’t think I’d feel comfortable having a full bush.

We both trim. It isn’t too much of a hassle and it does make it a lot easier for when we go down on each other. Then again we’ve been together for a couple years and it hasn’t always been that way. We talked about it though and came to the decision together.
I absolutely LOVE that my boyfriend shaves. I hate going down and getting his hairs all up in my mouth. I also shave completely bald. But I do that for myself. I dont like having a ton of hair on me. I just like a well manscaped man

My mate trims ever so often. He used to shave but he got razor burn so bad that he had to quit. I never asked him to trim or anything when we got together, his pubs, his problems, but he always wondered if I’d minded. I told him that he was special to me and that his body hair didn’t bother me like other males did. So he shaved it off one day to get my reaction. I was amazed at the smoothness…and promptly horrified. I hated it! I usually prefer shaved…but with him the fur was perfect. So he let it grow back but it’s never been as wild. It contained itself and he’s never had to deal with it since.(guess it learned what happens when it get out of hand!)

I’m a virgin and don’t have a boyfriend, but tbh I think it looks a bit weird for a guy to be completely BALD! He should at least have some hair down there! I think trimming is a good way to go, that’s what I do! But it all depends on how the guy feels about his hair, and that goes for girls as well. People shouldn’t feel pressured to shave all their pubes! BE PROUD OF THEM.

I don’t mind if he doesn’t, but I generally like it to be maintained- not a forest. Just- if he doesn’t, don’t expect me to be goin’ down on that.
i’m in exactly the same situation, it’s up to him: shaving or me not giving him a blow job!
I actually asked my ex while I was with him to STOP shaving (but also made it clear that it is his body and he can do what he likes, I just prefur it that way). On both guys and girls, I feel like no punbic hair makes them look prepubencent and thats pretty creepy for me. When I’m with someone, I wanna be with an grown person, an adult, and not feel like I’m with a child, because thats just gross! I prefur both sex’s to just trim the area – as long as its clean and you can still, well, get to the goods so to speak, it’s all good. But in the end, its about what makes them confortible in their body, and what makes them feel sexy.
