Go To Homophobic Chick-Fil-A Tomorrow And Order Water

chick-fil-a water homophobic

Chick-Fil-A lost a really loyal customer in Jackson Pearce. | Source

Writer and super-awesome YouTube personality Jackson Pearce has a solution to Chick-Fil-A’s homophobia–go to Chick-Fil-A on August 1st and order only a large cup of water.

Sounds crazy, but it’s brilliant. Here’s why: On August 1 (tomorrow!), conservative politician Mike Huckabee wants all supporters of Chick-Fil-A’s “biblical” stance on marriage to go eat there and give ’em some more money to donate to homophobic causes.

As you might remember, Chick-Fil-A came under fire when the Jim Henson Company–and the Muppets!–pulled out of a toy deal with the restaurant chain because they donate to anti-gay causes and organizations. Since then, a lot of LGBT-friendly groups and people (including us!) have stopped dining out at Chick-Fil-A, because eating there is, in essence, giving money to hate. But Jackson Pearce has an even better idea: Instead of simply not giving money to hate, why not take some money away from it, too?

No no, she’s not telling you to hold up or rob a Chick-Fil-A. That would land you in jail, and jail is not exactly a cute place to be. Instead, she urges you to go to Chick-Fil-A on August 1 and order just a large water. It’ll cost you nothing, but it’ll cost the company a few cents every time someone does it. Less money going to hate groups! She cites the very same Bible that Chick-Fil-A president Dan Cathy does when she says, “If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.” That’s from Proverbs 25:21. She says that if the Chick-Fil-A employees tell you that you need to order a meal, to simply cite Proverbs 25:21 to see how committed they are to all aspects of the Bible.

“To me, the traditional family is one where the members love and support one another,” she said. “It has nothing to do with color, or ethnicity, or shared blood or sexuality or gender.” We love this girl.

Dan Cathy says he’s just living his life according to the bible–and that the bible says gay marriage is wrong. Our Friend Jackson has something to say about that: “If I supported the ‘Biblical definition of marriage,’ I would keep my mouth shut about that. Because the Biblical definition of marriage involves a man and typically more than one woman, and as many concubines as he wants to hire. Biblically, a man is required to marry the woman he rapes, and ladies, if you can’t prove you’re a virgin on your wedding night, you’re gonna get stoned.” And to be clear–she means “stoned” as in “punished by rock throwing,” not the Pineapple Express kind. She also notes that nowhere in the Bible is a woman’s consent required to marry. Scary, right?

One of our favorite moments is when she says, “To me, the traditional family is one where the members love and support one another,” she said. “It has nothing to do with color, or ethnicity, or shared blood or sexuality or gender.” We love this girl. Watch her whole super-clever video now:

What she’s pointing out is that often when people cite the Bible to deny others legal rights, they often only cite the parts of the Bible that they like and agree with–and ignore the rest. Sort of like this dude:

While we support everyone’s right to stand up for what they believe in, if Dan Cathy and Chick-Fil-A cite the Bible as their reasons for supporting hate, they should, ostensibly, support the rest of the Bible’s principles. Because if they only pick and choose what to believe based on what allows them to support hate, that would make them, well, hypocrites. And according to the Bible, God and Jesus really didn’t like those.

Will you order a large water at Chick-Fil-A tomorrow (August 1)? Do you support Chick-Fil-A’s stance on gay marriage or do you not care? Do you think Chick-Fil-A will lose business because of their gay marriage stance? Have you or a friend stopped eating at Chick-Fil-A because of their homophobic donations? Tell us in the comments!

This article does nothing but promote hate and intolerance. While you are at your stupid boycott then make sure you boycott these companies, because they follow christian beliefs. Walmart, interstate batteries, Hobby Lobby and Tyson Foods to name a few.
Ms. Pearce you plan isnt as brilliant as you think. First off most if not all fast food chains will charge for a cup of water. They do that to offset the price of the cup. Secondly by sending people in for the water on Aug 1st will certainly give the illusion of full support for chick-fil-a.
It is equally biggoted to push your agenda on others and not allow them to their beliefs.
Shame on you for promoting hate.

    • Denise

Just to let Ms. Pearce know that Chick-Fil-A is giving out free water to people waiting in line at many of their locations. They did this own their own. Wow imagine that.

  • geminig1rl

This is by far the best video I have seen yet!!! Props to you my friend, props to you!!!!!!

  • Ladygirl

Its actually funny to see peopl whine and complain because Chic Fil A does not support homosexuality. Its funny how everyone (including the author) cries foul when a company exercising their freedom of speech is blasted with all this hate, all because they choose to give money to Christian organizations. Would the author cry foul if she found out the USA was giving money to the same people who crashed planes into the Twin Towers? Well obviously the author isn’t because that is exactly what this government is doing. Hmm blast a company that values traditional family values or praise a President that gives money to people who want to eradicate all Americans. You people really need a reality check.

  • Chick-fi-laLOVER

This might be the RUDEST most stupid thing I have ever heard in my life. You may not like what Chick fil a supports but they feel the EXACT same way about what YOU believe in. And I bet none of you want chick fil a to come take away your hard earned money so no one- NO ONE gay, straight, bi, white, black, Asian, Christian, athiest, anyone- has the right to take theirs. If you do this, in my eyes you are an a
    awful terrible heartless person.

  • Jane

I will be sure to help make up for lost revenue by ordering trays and having people over for dinner. I have several friends who are homosexual and they are great people. To show how great, they are contributing to the cost of food because they realize that CFA is NOT discriminating against them. They are just voicing their beliefs which they have every right to. If you don’t agree simply don’t eat there.

  • freetobeme

Well, I don’t about y’all, but I’m going to Chik-Fil-A tomorrow and getting some chicken for my whole family ๐Ÿ™‚ Before you go and say anything bad about me, I want it to be known that I don’t hate homosexuals and I’m pretty sure Dan Cathy doesn’t hate homosexuals either. He’s simply excersizing his freedom as an American to support what he believes in, just like y’all excersize your freedom to support what you believe in. I think it’s pretty sad that people are being so hateful towards him just for expressing his beliefs.

  • long106

I’m calling or texting all of my friends to go there tomorrow. And my whole family is going there too, I think. If my mom won’t let us I swear I will walk to the nearest Chick-fil-a and order it myself.

  • Bananapillow

Wow what a biased article. For one, Chik-Fil-A isn’t “hating” gay people. They are simply choosing to oppose the legality of gay marriage. Also, it does in fact say in the bible that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Leviticus 20:13 states “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death, their blood shall be upon them.” Now, that being said I think it is reasonable to understand why a christian company would oppose gay marriage. Also, the reason that it states that a woman is “forced” to marry her rapist is because that is the best option for her. In the old world, if you were raped, you were viewed as unclean; and, as such, could not find a husband. The rapist had to pay her father a large fine and support her for the rest of her life. It is more of a sentence for him than a punishment for her. Now, all of this aside, believe it or not, I actually do not consider myself a christian, nor do I plan on eating at Chik-Fil-A on Wednesday. However, I do support Chik-Fil-A’s right to stand up for what they believe is true, as do I stand up for the right of everyone on here to order water. However, you should not get mad when Chik-Fil-A charges you for water (which they just might). If you really want to stand up for gay marriage, spend your money to support an organization that supports it, not waste your time making Chik-Fil-A lose 0.5 cents on a cup of water.

    • Dafuq

Lmao. “More a sentence for him than a punishment for her”? Seriously? Nothing sounds more pleasant than spending the rest of your life with a rapist. Leviticus is a peachy book, isn’t it? Do me a favor. Unless you take the entire book of Leviticus and all of its ridiculously outdated rules and regulations 100% literally and follow them (that means no shellfish, no cheeseburgers if they’re from the same cow, and don’t even THINK about having sex if the woman has her period) you are a hypocrite. You can’t just pick and choose which bigoted bible scripture you want to follow just because it suits your needs.

  • Carol

I personally do not think that people should take the money away from chick-fil-a. I think that that is mean. I do not agree with them donating the money from their business. People can have whatever beliefs that they want, but when it comes to stopping other people’s opinions I think that it is wrong.
I think that it is alright for people to stop eating there, but taking away the money I do not agree with.

  • Kirsten

An even better idea? Go there on August 3rd and kiss another girl (or person of the same gender). I’m straight and I’m doing it, because I am absolutely outraged by the millions of dollars they donate to anti-LGBT organizations. • MeMakeYouSmile

Got 6 of my friends to come with me to Chick-Fil-A tommorow, can’t wait to see their faces ๐Ÿ˜€

  • GO CHICK-FIL-A !

Hey up until a couple months ago obama said the same thing as Cathy did about marraige. Wonder if u still voted for him? Sounds like jackson pearce has just a few things out of context in her little rant too. I’ve never eaten at Chick-fil-a much, but will be often now. So i guess the “loyal” customer Chick-fil-a lost in pearce they will gain in me. Is’nt that like stealing too trying to get few cents to add up to take from Chick-fil-a ?

  • Courtney

This morning on facebook I saw a photo that was being shared about this CFA business, and in the description the poster said, “Regardless, we ask that EVERYONE please show that we won’t let the TYRANNY OF THE FAR LEFT DESTROY AMERICA and that there is a place for traditional values here by supporting Chick-Fil-A on August 1, 2012.”
This is honestly makes me sick. I didn’t realize that gays were destroying and taking over our country. They’re people too.

  • Jasmine

I will go to chick fil a tomorrow and order a grilled chicken sandwhich and waffle fries. Maybe I’ll take my sister so she can get a chicken wrap. Hey my brother likes chick fil a too!!! I’ll invite him too. Thanks for the suggestion gurl.com but I think I’m gonna respect
The opinions of chick fil a. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am a Christian and I support what God tells me. Of course there are little things that we do every day that are wrong but well we aren’t perfect and I don’t hate homosexuals I don’t think theyre right but I’m not gonna purposely make them lose money like the extreme chick fil a haters. Anyways just my opinion. Bash me if
    You want.

    • Julianne

Me too, but I’ll probably get a friend chicken sandwich ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ll take my baby cousin so she can get a baby book. My sister loves the nuggets and my mom and grandma like the grilled sandwich too :). I go to church every Sunday. I don’t hate homosexuals, I just don’t agree with them. I believe in the Bible. If the Bible tells me not to, I wont. Or I will ask for forgiveness. I don’t think people should order water and take money, because that is essentially stealing, which is also a sin. Also, they haven’t seemed to have lost any buisness in my town, because the drive thrum and store are packed. Maybe I’ll see u there tommorow ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Rachel

I will continue to support Chik Fil A. They are entitled to their opinion. Like Jasmine said, we all sin everyday. And because someone has their beliefs, you want to knock them. Then DUMBASSES don’t eat their. It’s not going to hurt them in the least. God has blessed this business and will continue to bless this business with or without you!!

  • Kristen

I am totally for Jackson’s idea. I have already shared it on my page. and btw, anyone else think she kinda looks like Melissa Joan Hart, from Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Melissa & Joey.

  • Amanda

My sister and I are doing this tomorrow – can’t wait!! Anything that can take away from hateful bigots makes me more than happy.

  • fatimarox1

Go Jackson! I do not support Chick-Fil-A’s stance on gay marriage, and because of it, I think they will lose a lot of business. I have never tried their food, but now, I don’t plan to!

  • Kara

    Chick-Fil-A is nast anyway.

  • Abby

Honestly- I’ve always hated that place, their food SUCKS, so with this, I just hate them more. My parents still LOVE their food for some weird reason, so I’m going to try and convince them that their just supporting their belief. So long story short- I’m never goin to eat there again- even if my whole family’s going there, including me.

  • marshmelo

Although the bible says gay mariage is wrong, it also says that you are to love homosexuals just like anyone else.
