Yes! Every one of my action movies, there’s a girl getting in the way of the hero! I know that they use romance to reel in girls to watch but it aggravates me! However, the woman can never fight for herself. Even if there is a movie with a female hero, she’s basically there for the sex appeal. She’s not supposed to be taken seriously for her abilities.
It makes me miss Xena (even if her outfit is sexualized).

I saw this movie either earlier this year or late last year, can’t remember. I think it’s really important for young women to see. It made me proud to be going to film school, so I can change some of these stereotypes that have been plaguing us for so long.

Actually, the last movie I watched was man on a ledge. The main female character is a negotiator who is trying to save a man. I am a feminist, but not all movies portray women like that. Hunger games, Harry potter, both have powerful women.

I watched that with my mom! Loved it! I’m definitely putting it out there to my school so we can get it in the curriculum in health class and stuff – I had my guy health teacher say guys need to take care of their girls and protect them because we cant handle it so I stood up and said “last time I checked, I can take care of myself thank you very much. We’re not all interested in staying home, cooking, taking care of children or crap like that when we get older. You wouldn’t want to do that yourself, would you?” and walked out of class. I got extra credit
