Gamer girls everywhere have probably encountered some really creepy, pervy, or otherwise scary douchebags via XBox messages. And now a group of gamer girls are taking a stand against the XBox, PC, PlayStation, and Wii creepers of the world. Since most XBox messages gamer girls receive from guys are either scary sexual propositions or outright insults, a group of fed up–but simultaneously amused–gamer girls started the site FatUglyOrSlutty.com.

The site is a collection of oft misspelled messages from online creepers who like harassing gamer girls just because they’re, well, girls–and often because the gamer girls kicked a guy’s ass at XBox. The messages are generally offensive, but they’re also so idiotic that they’re often unintentionally hilarious, too. For example:

How exactly do you respond to that? Do we even have those? How would that work over an XBox lobby? SO MANY QUESTIONS.

 

Come on, dude. No one our age listens to AM radio.

 

The fact that your brain–you know, that gray matter in your other head?–is the same size as a chipmunk’s is a much bigger problem, sweetie. Try again.

 

Sandbox > XBox. We bet his bedroom says the same thing, just not on purpose.

 

While the messages are, as we said, pretty funny, it’s still unfair that gamer girls are subject to so much of this sexist BS just because they happen to like first person shooters as much as the basement dwellers who have only seen an XBox–and are bitter that they haven’t had access to boxes of other kinds. We love that these gamer girls are calling these pigs out on their insanity, because if it makes even one jerk think twice about harassing someone via XBox message, they’ve accomplished something.

And we just want to note something else, too. A lot of people suggest that if you don’t like perverted and creepy XBox messages, then you should just not use XBox Live. Here’s the problem with that: It means the trolls are winning. If they’re simply acting like asshats to drive out gamer girls and it works, what incentive do they have to stop? What incentive do they have to start respecting other people and behaving appropriately if they’re never reprimanded or called out for being nuts? We’re glad gamer girls aren’t letting these guys win in any capacity, whether it be at Halo or at harassment.

Kudos to the gamer girls at FatUglyOrSlutty.com for not letting them get away with their misogyny, but for also approaching the topic with humor–because at the end of the day, it is a game. The fact that these gamer girls realize that means that they’ve already won it.
