Miley Cyrus seems to be at the Pilates studio on a daily basis but this weekend she brought fiancé Liam Hemsworth along with her. No matter how inept a hulking hottie like LH was on a yoga mat, I’m sure he looked awesome. And glistening. Maybe he took his shirt off…
ANYWAY! FOCUS SHALLON! The scene got me thinking about the plusses and minuses of sweat sessions with your dude.
Pro: You stay motivated!
Con: You get competitive!
I’m a big fan of dating super sporty guys (preferably pro athletes but hey, I’ll take what I can get) but surprisingly I hate working out with my man. I’m hideously competitive and have seriously hurt myself trying to keep up with a guy who might have 70 pounds and 10 years of athletic experience on me. Do you get caught up in trying to either impress or outdo your boy in spin class too?
Pro: Quality time with your boo
Con: Time spent too sweaty and stinky to actually touch
I don’t like to worry about how I look/sound/smell when I’m working out. I mean it’s not like I hit the gym in a hefty bag and Tevas for goodness sakes, but I don’t like to doodle around the gym, waiting for someone or making small talk. I want to get in, get out, get back to my Kardashians reruns on Tivo.
Pro: Watch his muscles flex. Rawwwr!
Con: Watch him watch other girls prance around in tiny gym outfits. Wahhhh!
Every gym has them: the gym girl, who comes to her “workout” in a curled ponytail, foundation and only a sportsbra and shorts. The worst part is, she usually has the body to pull it off. Ugh.
Pro: Working out releases sexy endorphins
As anti-joint workouts as I am, I can’t think of anything better than getting fit AND revving up those hormones!
Do you prefer to workout on your own or does working out as a couple help you stay focused and motivated? Let me know in the comments!
