Turning someone down is probably my least favorite thing in the world, mainly because you never know how a dude is going to react to being rejected. Some guys are understanding and great about it, while other guys are, um, less than mature.
A few years ago, I started talking to a dude who was much more interested in me than I was into him. He called me, texted me and IMed me constantly to tell me how much he missed me and how beautiful he thought I was. Sweet, sure, but I just didn’t like him that way and knew I needed to end things. One day, I finally decided to break it to him.
My very polite rejection line? “Listen, I think you’re a great guy, but I’m just not interested in anything right now except being friends. I’m sorry if I led you on.”
His not-so-polite reply (after begging me to reconsider, by the way): “Fine. Whatever. You have a big nose anyway.”
Um, really? First of all, I know I don’t have a big nose at all. Second of all, weren’t you just going on about how gorgeous I am?
Oh, and after that diss, he went right back to trying to change my mind and apologizing for the comment. Sorry, dude, I don’t date immature guys.
What’s the most rude thing a guy has ever said to you? Have you ever been insulted after rejecting someone? Tell us in the comments!

This or That
I just had this one guy talk about how awesome he is and how hot I am, and when I turned him down he was like “well fine, if you don’t want a hot, successful guy then.” He’s 34, so I told him that was a bit immature for someone his age. Then he went on to say he didn’t need to impress a mediocre, chunky girl like me. Ha! Guys are too much.
