I accidentally took a really important key home from work in my pocket once and couldn’t bring myself to own up, so I hid it and pretended to find it later, saying that someone else must have dropped it. Then I got all the glory for finding the key even though it was my fault in the first place. Although I felt pretty guilty about it later.
