Stay in the moment! | Source: Shutterstock
Be present. Listen to what your guy is saying and just enjoy chatting him up. If you’re too focused on freaking out over whether something’s in your teeth or if this dude is your soulmate, you’ll miss out on the fun of getting to know someone cool. If you do really like him, engaging him and being in the moment will hedge your bets of a second date.
And if he’s lame to talk to? Live, learn, and don’t go out with him again. No harm, no foul.
One awersome and important bit of advice: When in doubt, remain mysterious. Let him ask questions–and keep some deets to yourself to save for date two!

This or That
After the first date, how would you let the guy know you’re not interested without being harsh?
I would actually always recommend sitting across from each, sitting next to each other is not average and really awkward for the other person however if there is a big group then you can sit next to your date like in a booth.
agree! so you do not have to turn your head to look at him. lol
Actually, there’s a scientific study that shows that guys tend to feel more close to a girl when talking side by side, while girls tend to feel more close by talking face to face. So, if you really like the guy and want to be with him you better sit side by side.
