Your Complete Guide To First Date Conversation

Show your sense of humor! We’re not saying you gotta do a stand up routine for the guy, but don’t be scared to let your guard down and get goofy. He’ll have a lot more fun with humorous banter than with a silent gal–he won’t feel as much pressure if you’re both opening up and chuckling. Laugh at his jokes–only if they’re funny!–and share some of your own funny moments.

You may want to run some of your anecdotes by your BFF prior to your date. If she says it’s TMI or too boring, skip it!

Two tips though? Avoid dirty jokes on a first date. You don’t want him to get the wrong idea, and if you use a ton of “blue” humor, he may think you’re only after a hookup. (Though if that’s actually the case, then by all means!) And don’t make period jokes, either. As immature as it sounds, dudes would really just like to pretend that they don’t exist.

After the first date, how would you let the guy know you’re not interested without being harsh?

I would actually always recommend sitting across from each, sitting next to each other is not average and really awkward for the other person however if there is a big group then you can sit next to your date like in a booth.

Actually, there’s a scientific study that shows that guys tend to feel more close to a girl when talking side by side, while girls tend to feel more close by talking face to face. So, if you really like the guy and want to be with him you better sit side by side.
