My boyfriend smokes.
How can I let him know that his smoking makes me really uncomfortable?
How do I tell him that I care about him a lot and he shouldn’t be smoking?

You can let him know that it’s not good for him – but he probably already does know.
- he smoked BEFORE you started dating? Were you attracted to the whole package or just to part of him?
Do you love him enough to love him unconditionally – warts and all?
- Or are you basically telling him – I love you …but only if you change?
You have the right to ask that he control his smoking when around you ….but you also have to respect him, his choices, and even his self identity as a smoker too.
and trust me on this …. saying that “I’m only thinking of you” won’t necessarily make him love you more.
well if he realy loves you he’ll get a pach or some help cus smoking can be hard to get off of but the point is if he realy i mean truly loves you he’ll stop.
you can joke around and be like “ew, stinky!” or something? maybe? or just be honest and say “look, dude. i hate it, you smell, and it’s bad for you. i care about you and your health and that is why i want you to stop.”
my boyfriend of 8 months had been smoking up until the beginning of june, i just told him that he is super important to me and i dont want to see him get cancer and harm himself. he stopped <3 i am around him a lot, so i believe him too
Gurl U need to just be honest with him! Just explain to ur sweetie why u feel that way! Thats all the advice I would give u face 2 face!
Me and my sisters have been trying to get our father to stop smoking for as long as I can remember so I really don’t think he’s going to stop unless he wants to.
First of all, It’s his choice to smoke. He probably know it’s bad for him. If he doesn’t know HOW bad, you can always try to explain to him. Just tell him that it disturbs you and If he listens and understands, he will at least try. If you want him to stop smoking it will be hard. Just tell him to try to stop.
I thinkthat trying to get someone to give up smoking is rather risky. to successfully give up smoking the person has to stop for themselves, not for anyone else. if someone is under the impression that they should be or are trying to kick the habbit for you and the relationship hits a rough patch they will probably hold it against you. no one can successfully give up an addiction for anyone else. remember that the next time you think it’s cute that he said he’d quit for you
It depends on your relationship with that person. My dad smoked for many many years and his lungs sounded terrible. I sat him down and told him I was genuinely worried for him, and that I was worried that by the time I had kids he wouldn’t be around. Since that day he has never picked up a cigarette. It’s been almost 3 years now.
